Hi friends!
Wow, I just so have been waking up with joy lately! I know that when I look around I am surrounded by negative reports and things look a bit grim. Then on top of that negative report there are so many of you precious young girls; the tweens, teens, and single moms going back to school.
Oh how challenging it can be to balance home/family/work/school/finances and on top of all that look and feel pretty!
Well today I have a short how to video for you to help encourage you.
See I am a fan of the being the first one to tell me how my day is going to be when I wake up. In fact, I know that how I think and say about me is how others around me are going to perceive me-so I need to get right from the start!
I command my morning-I encourage myself and my son with the word of God and what He says about me, not what the world does.
So I remind myself that I am highly favored of God, that everything I put my hand to prospers and that I am being overtaken by the blessings right now!
You know I have a friendly challenge for you: how about for the next ten days you wake up and say three amazing things to yourself and about yourself! Write them down on a note card or a sticky note and put it on the bathroom mirror, the coffee maker, the refrigerator or in your wallet. Wherever you are going to look first!
Say things along the lines like Stuart Smalley from the SNL episode. Tell yourself:
-I am the righteousness of God
-I am highly favored, everyone who sees me favors me
-I am being overtaken by blessings right now!
Woo hoo! Shout it! Say it like you mean it! You can do it! If you don't tell yourself something good about you, who will?
Today is August 31st and there are ten days til Rosh Hashana which is the Jewish new year and I say that you spend the next 10 days encouraging yourself for the beginning of the new year.
Not Jewish? Neither am I, but Rosh Hashana is in the Bible and if God celebrates it so do I!

Hey there my sweet friends! Happy Monday to you! I tell you what I just woke up with a song in my heart and joy on my mind! Stir it up in yourself! You can choose to be happy or you can choose to look at circumstance, so I say, choose joy! Oh and speaking of joy...
Here I am holding the Karmissie at home hair threader system by Anita Sun who built her career in aesthetics for the skin.
She was taught the ancient art of hair threading by her mom and turned it into a career and now into a help for busy ladies who can't get into the salon or due to the economy are cutting back on beauty treatments.
I think that the initial investment in a Karmissie will pay off triple fold once you start using it.
I watched, yes, for real, I watched the dvd instructions, and then got started. I practiced several times with the button on the Karmissie but have found that I really prefer the "see saw" method of pinching the two ends of the X shaped threads together.
I found that getting the fine hairs along the jaw close to my ears are difficult and will definately need some more skill honing. So for right now, that area on my face is a bit patchy.
You can see in the photo I am using the numbing lotion. Seriously, it's a nice feature but I found I didn't need it. I'm saving mine for my next tattoo session and will be using the Karmissie on the
bare skin-no pain numbing lotion needed!
I say that and something you should know about my personality is that I also really enjoy going to the dentist and all the scraping.
The chalk powder is really helpful to make the hair more visible. The first time I used it when doing my cheeks/jawline, but I found that on the
second try I didn't need the chalk on the jaw. I definately needed it between the eyebrows and along the brow line for making a clean line.
I'm sad to say that my big bushy thick eyebrows are gone. The ones that I grew in using the Revitabrow product have vanished and now I am back to my normal thin, lighter brown brows that are actually darkened and shaped with eyeshadow in the photos and video below. Okay my friends and loved ones, I have been sitting on this product story for awhile because I needed to hear back from a young man who I had lent this product to. See, I rarely, very occasionally get a pimple let alone a full breakout. To that statement I praise God and knock on wood! In the meantime, I am busy with Mancub mania and the big birthday party. We had a small get together on Thursday to celebrate the actual day, and now this weekend is the whole enchilada! Speaking of enchilada, we ate out at the new Matta's in Mesa Riverview tonight-it's nice, but does not have the charm of the Main st. location that is now closed or the family friendliness of the Higley restaraunt. If you are a tourist and don't know any better about the other locations than you won't notice a difference, but as a local eating here it was no different other than higher prices than eating at a Baja Fresh.
I'm going to get some beauty rest! More soon!

Hello everyone! Wow, is it hot enough for you? Lately, the humid heat has made my hair one big
frizzy pile, it won't behave! So onto what I am holding here, this is Sula! You get it at Ulta and it comes in 10 colors, I'm not sure what the name is of what I am wearing but it's actually pretty in a green sort of way.
The science behind this is a proprietary water based formula versus the traditional ethyl alcohol based nail polishes that are frankly, quite toxic.
So I"m happy to try Sula paint and peel duo, it's just I really am not much of a nail painter because I type alot and manicure does not hold up to it!
I tried it on one hand and liked it enough to actually finish my other hand and I am now wearing it for as long as it lasts.
Then, I'll just peel it off! Watch the new how to video below to see just how easy it is. As for drying time, I would say it took at least 15 minutes to dry on my nails to a level of hardness that didn't dent everytime I bumped it.
