Happy Monday: get your Pin-Up on

June is almost over...the Fourth of July Holiday is almost here! I love what it represents, though in Arizona, it's way too hot to sit out and watch fireworks.

Makeup wise: I have a special "Fourth of July" celebration look coming at the end of the week for you.

There is a fresh batch of product reviews and giveaways coming too!

As for this Monday:
I want to recommend another makeup artist for your Rockabilly/Glamour/Pin-Up 40's inspired makeup: her name is Angel Jagger and her work is amazing.
check it out here: http://www.angeljagger.com/glamour.html

See, I'm getting the final touches down on my 1970's Barbarella/1940's Pin-Up inspired look for the West Valley Fashion Show where I am helping couture bridal designer JennyVi with her fashion show.

While searching around the internet I came across Angel Jagger's site and fell in love!
See it for yourself, then come out on Saturday and see my mix of makeup looks on the bride models.

I really want to perfect my forties hair rolls and use of hair rats...more on that later. Right now what I am focusing on is getting a mix of the Barbarella big, messy by lovin' hair look with the innocent lip, heavy liner/big lash and shadow down to a quick step that I can get half a dozen models ready in record time.

Phew! Plus, I'll be teaching a segment while I'm there and using a lucky bride from the audience to demo on!

So for you gals at home, who want to get your Barbarella look on ( no, the remake of the movie is on hold, and last I heard, Robert Rodriguez is not directing meaning girlfriend Rose McGowan is not starring. That's Hollywood!)

to create the look at home: fill your hair roots with volumizing gel and spray some volulmizing spray through the ends: set on large hot rollers and dry.

Switch to your makeup: you'll need a smooth semi-matte foundation, with pale blush in a neutral tone, a very neutral mouth with low shimmer, and heavy eyeliner in a deep purple shade. The eyeliner does not wing out in a cat eye, but stays close to the shape of the eye, it's just a thick line. Add some short, full false eyelashes to complete the look.

Do full arched brows, with a two tone muted shadow of light purple along the lid and a soft highlighting pink on the brow.

Finish with taking your hair out, teasing it up on the crown, smoothing over with a finishing brush, then shaking it messy...like you've been havin' that lovin' feelin'.

That should give you a modern, updated, Barbarella look. Some of you may where that to work, to the gym, out on a date, or to drop your toddler off at school.

Either way, I"m sure you look gorgeous!
