30 and over? How to wear the Fall 2008 beauty trend of super dark lips...plus Britney at the VMA's

Did you get a chance to watch the VMA's last night? I was at church and received massive impartation. Which is a wee bit better than sitting around watching tv. Though, I'm always curious to see what the hair and makeup looks like, plus the fashion that goes on at an awards show.

It seems that shining light was on Britney Spears and that she received several awards. In the photo I posted, she looks great. Clear skin, bright eyed and glamours makeup that is not over done or tacky. Good job and way to go Britney! I look forward to her return and success!

Okay, if you have been seeing the beauty trend for Fall and the super dark lip, plus read my last post about using Chanel in Vamp to achieve the look, thanks for reading. There is a wee concern that we should talk about.

Sometimes a super dark mouth, expecially matte can make you look older, especially around the mouth. So here's some suggestions of how you can wear this look and still look youthful, even if you are not under 30.

1. Use a stain with a gloss over it. It will given you the pigment, without the harshness.

2. Use a darker gloss than you are used to. If you don't want to keep buying lip products, mix an old lipstick with you carmex or lighter shade gloss to achieve a Fall trend tone that you can try before you buy.

3.Finally, use a lip liner to fill in the entire mouth in a darker shade. Use your ring finger to rub it in and soften the color. Apply a balm or gloss over it.

Wah lah! Updated Fall 2008 beauty trend in a softer less runway more everyday look! Enjoy!

Sally Hansen Diamond Lip Treatment

The word "treatment" makes this sound like medicine, and it sort of is; the aloe and shea butter formula work really well to soften dry lips and keep them protected.
