Everyday Retro Style: the 3 L’s
Saturday in Downtown Phoenix I will be teaching and doing a makeup demo on a gal from the audience at the Melrose Fashion show and fair.
I’ll be teaching this very lesson: the 3 L’s of everyday retro looks
Come down for the event and volunteer to be my model! Or, just follow this simple technique:
To get your everyday retro look, you need heavy liner on the top lid only, lots of lashes and lips! A bright red or pink lip is a must!
1. After you have a semi-matte to matte foundation and powder on, cover your lids with a medium toned beige with a wee shine on the brow bone.
2. Line your eyes preferably with liquid liner in a dark hue such as black, navy or eggplant purple! Start from the outside corner of the eye and draw towards the center of the eye. I recommend that you stop there and only go to the nose if you are going out in the evening. False eyelashes will make this face, so stick some on. They may take a practice or two for you to become comfortable with applying and wearing, though it is so worth it! I love the store brands and the $5 work just as good as the $20!
3. Wear a light blush on the apple of the cheek
4. Finish your every day retro look with a bright lip color and line the lips to give good definition.
Doing simple hair rolls, or putting it up in a French twist then wrapping a bandana or head scarf around it will pull the whole retro look into play. Enjoy and I’ll see you on Saturday!
