Auburn tones reflect seasonal changes and aren't as daunting as going full-on red. The key? Ending up with an even shade. Los Angeles colorist Marco Pelusi reveals his tricks of the trade through a fabulous color makeover on TotalBeauty.com reader Mary. See how you can use his technique to avoid an at-home hair color mishap. |
It's Fall. That's the season we are in, though here in good ol' Arizona it still feels like summer. We had a wee two day cold snap, and then right back to the 90's. Darn. Just as I was ready to wear pants.
Being Fall, it's time for a transition from your summer look to your Fall color palette before going in to a winter and Holiday makeup / hair style and color palette.
For a seasonal change, try a demi-permanent hair rinse in a red tone to enhance the color of your hair. As always, when home coloring follow the rule of thumb: stay with in 1-2 shades of your natural color. Whatever that is. I haven't seen my natural color since high school.
To add a red shade to your color palette, now is the time to try brick reds, cool reds and maybe even a super dark black red a 'la Vamp from Chanel. Lipsticks are a fun inexpensive way to update your wardrobe and style without emptying the wallet.
