The 2012 I Heart Radio festival in Las Vegas is amazing!
It opened with No Doubt and Gwen Stefani looked amazing! So beautiful and in shape. Makes me want to put this burger down...
Ok-this video is a short tutorial for her hair style. I love the (what I have coined as) duo sumo rolls with a top twist. The twist is what is so exciting because it's not the trendy braid. My short bangs had a hard time twisting into a smooth shape.
Thank goodness for my Bosley Volumizing and Thickening gel! I spritzed all hairs into place with Smooth n Shine Diamond Luster pump hairspray. I used a Goody comb, a few bobby pins and some basic brown hair elastics to match my hair color.
1. Smooth some gel into your hair and make a side part in line with the end of your eyebrow.
2. Comb the hair sideways and section two pieces off at the hairline where it meets the forhead and begin to twist. Pull sections of hair into the twist just like you would a french braid-but caution- do not go past the part line on the twist side. You need to have about a 1 inch section of hair above the ear to smooth back into a sumo roll.
3. Pin the twist and secure with hairspray. Next comb the sides back to begin a sumo roll, use the gel to smooth the hair above the ears as you comb the hair straight back. Secure in a pony tail holder and before you pull the hair through the holder for a pony tail, simply stop half way and create a roll.
4. Fan the roll out. I had to pin my sumo roll up on the inside of the roll against my head because even with fanning out the roll, my thin hair wouldn't stand up.
5. Finish the I Heart Radio No Doubt Gwen Stefani hairstyle look by pulling the bottom section of hair into the ponytail holder and pull it into a sumo roll. Spray with hairspray and fan out the bottom sumo roll, smooth the tails and fan out for a spikey effect.
Love the look! Enjoy the video!
My favorite part was when Pink came on stage and sang I'm Just a Girl with Gwen Stefani. Too good! Remember: you are beautiful! Thank you for visiting the blog and check back for promotions and beauty giveaways!
