Time less beauty of the Arizona Renaissance Faire:  http://www.royalfaires.com/

Adventure is out there and I got plenty of it when I traveled to the east valley of Phoenix, just past Apache Junction on a rainy day to spend a day in merry old England. I specifically went looking for beauty stories, destination wedding details and to get a photoshoot that was gypsy in look and feel.

What I got was so much more! If you haven’t been I encourage you to go and while you are there, visit these beauty booths!

*note to readers: these musings are from photographer Brandy Caldwell who was in the field with me and did sampling as well as shopping!

*Ok, so the Lotion Candles: Can only be found at the Renasissance Festival at the Lotion Candle booth.

They are hand poured in small batches at a cottage in Cornelius, North Carolina on Lake Norman.

They use all natural ingredients like pure USA soga, shea butter from Africa, jojoba, aloe vera, virgin olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, palm oil, and essential oils to give the skin a renewed feeling of youth!

Burn the candle for 20 minutes until a pool of lotion wax forms. Dip the tip of your finger into the lotion and massage into the skin. Healing softness and soothing fragrances.

They smell fantastic (I bought the Almond Shea one myself) and they even have a Cool Water fragrance for men. The small candle can last up to 6 months and the large candle for up to 2 years. Great for hands, feet, or even as a massage oil. Not greasy and the light scent lasts for several hours. (I love mine!)

Skin Mend:

Only available at the Renassiance Festival Sacred Grove Apothecary. It was originally developed by a man for his wife with sores resulting from Diabetic Neuropathy.

While rubbing it on his wife's sores on her feet, he found that the minor cuts and damage to his hands were being healed as well.

Many of the customers who have purchased Skin Mend found it to be useful for rashes, cuts, scars, and other skin lesions.

It has a warming effect, so it is not to be used on heat rashes as it can further irritate the area.

(I personally tried it on a scratch on my arm from a dog. It healed twice as fast as some of my other scratches.)

There is a look and feel to the Faire and I recommend you go! It's open through the last weekend of March. There is something unique going on in every nook and cranny of the place.  It's beautiful, and a place for the family to have some fun. As I was looking into the faces of the artisans and crowd I saw a simple beauty. A time before at home electric node face lift treatments and eyelash extensions. I love makeup and what you can create with it, though I really enjoyed seeing the simplicity and lack of umbrage in appearance at the Renaissance Faire.
So what are you waiting for? Go! Special thanks to in field reporter and photographer Brandy Caldwell of As You Wish Photography.
