Good HouseKEEPING NAMES GOODY® SPIN PIN A VIP
Goody’s revolutionary Spin Pin is a winner of the magazine’s third annual Very Innovative Products Awards

Atlanta, Ga. (January 12, 2011) – In 2010, women everywhere discovered just how easy it is to achieve an elegant updo at home with the miraculous Goody Spin Pin. This tiny corkscrew that does the work of 20 bobby pins is currently the number one hair accessory nationwide and now, Good Housekeeping is adding another superlative to its pedigree, naming the Spin Pin as a winner in their third annual Very Innovative Products (VIP) Awards.

The scientists and engineers at the Good Housekeeping Research Institute, the magazine’s state-of-the-art laboratory, evaluated over 2,000 products to recognize the year’s breakthroughs that solve everyday problems in new and exciting ways. The VIP winners stand out for their pioneering innovations and are also tested for performance and safety in a variety of categories such as beauty, cooking, cleaning and electronics. The 2011 VIP Awards are featured in the February issue of Good Housekeeping, which is read by 25 million women each month.

“We are always looking for new ideas that will wow our readers,” said Rosemary Ellis, editor-in-chief of Good Housekeeping. "We see so many products each year, but a few really amaze us with their functionality. The Goody Spin Pin stood out for its ease-of-use and astounding results.”

“We are thrilled for the Goody Spin Pin to be recognized so highly by such a prestigious publication,” said Kim Hoelting, Vice President of Marketing for Goody. “This award affirms Goody’s commitment to styling innovations that will revolutionize the life of today’s busy woman.”

Inspired by the undone updos that dominated both the red carpet and runway in 2010, Goody created the Spin Pin to help women everywhere achieve this effortless yet sophisticated style. To create this professional-quality look, simply gather hair at the nape of the neck and twist it into a tight bun, tucking in the ends. Then twist the two Spin Pins together for the perfect instant updo.

Introduced in March 2010, the Spin Pin is part of Goody Simple Styles™ collection, clever styling tools and instructional guides to assist every woman in achieving a salon-inspired hairstyle at home. The collection also includes products for the perfect voluminous ponytail, modern twist or volume boost.

The Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin has a suggested retail price of $7.29. It is available at Walmart, Target, CVS, Walgreens and Duane Reade stores nationwide.

Kinky curly hair? Put some Sweetback Treatment on it from Miss Jessies

4 Lipstick Laws That Everyone Should Follow

Red lipstick can either make or break your look. Read on to find out how to avoid making a lip faux pas

4 Lipstick Laws That Everyone Should Follow

This is a TotalBeauty.com lip makeup article

As far as I'm concerned, the following four lipstick laws need to be passed and enforced -- now.

Learn the laws

Hello Gorgeous!
I have wavy hair, thanks to the birth of my son. It can be tamed with Nexxus Humectress but I am always on the hunt for something new that works better?
I received a sample of Miss Jessies Sweetback Treatment and liked it.
It comes in a large plastic tub, has a nice slip to it and at first feel is a bit plasticky. Once I rubbed it between my palms and emulsified the conditioner it went smoothly onto and I assume, into? It rinsed well and the result after a blow dry for me was smooth hair and controled waves. It is meant to be a weekly treatment-something you apply and put a baggie over your hair and sit under a dryer for a spell to let it really absorb and work into the hair.
So, that's my weekend plan-to have a deep moisturizing treatment with Miss Jessies Super Sweetback Treatment. Stay tuned for a before and after photo!
You can get this at Target or off the website www.missjessies.com

The New Lip Balm That's Rocking My World

This is a TotalBeauty.com lip makeup article

Treat your lips to this product -- you won't be disappointed.

See what it is

Hello gorgeous! As you can see, there are two good news notes for today.

First, Shadrach has grown his whiskers back after the unfortunate Kindergarten clipping of said whiskers.

He's fat and sassy and back on balance with a full set of whiskers.

Now in my photo you see three flavors of Twist water by Talking Rain.

I love a flavored water because I have to drink so much of it to stay hydrated in the Arizona heat and now I still need to keep the fluids flowing because of my intense Ironman triathlon training.

I love the West Indies Lime because it's semi tart and I like it! Each flavor is tasty and full bodied without being sickeningly sweet. I don't really like sweet stuff and almost always cut a flavored water in half with plain water. Not so with the Twist! They have fun funky bottles that I think look chic!

Best of all, there are only 9 calories per serving and no artifical colors or sweetners meaning moms, you can feel good giving this to your kids! I wish this came in a pouch. Now, that, my son would drink! Enjoy some Twist today, and to find out more and where you can get it visit www.drinktwist.com Each bottle is just over a buck!
