Hello Gorgeous!
Wow, what a week it has been for the October Anti-Bullying campaign! Now to finish end our week of encouragement on a strong and positive note, please welcome Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Famer Nick Lowery. I was thinking that an experience and opinion from a male point of view would help balance this week's Anti-Bullying campaign.
Mr. Lowery wrote a beautiful poem for you, please read and enjoy.
It's for you ladies!

"We listen with our heart,
if we dare,
with tender ear,
and breathe in fresh air
or we listen at a distance,
for too close would it tear,
the wounds of old love,
remembering its scars,
the blood too fresh,

the crash of old cars
the memory too near.
So we keep our heart safe
or so we think,
by removing ourselves from a learning place,
for the learning might again be only old pain,
and the lessons not worth the gentle gain.
Or perchance,
we keep an open heart,
and if lucky,
hear sublime music
teaching a new dance"
(October, 2011)

Ladies-print that poem and keep it near for times when you need encouragement. Now here is a little bit more about Mr. Lowery from his website http://www.loweryspeaks.com/ in case you aren't up to par on your sports history. I think reading a bit of bio will help your appreciation of the poem Mr. Lowery created just for you!

"Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Famer Nick Lowery knows about targets – he was the most accurate kicker in NFL History. He worked for three US Presidents in the White House during his NFL Career, and was the first pro athlete with a Masters and Fellowship from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. He is the winner of the most prestigious humanitarian award an NFL player can receive, The Byron Whizzer White Award. A lot of speakers can talk a good game – Nick lived it for 18+ Hall of Fame caliber years in the NFL."

Now, with all of that said, here is a short video of Nick Lowery in empowerment coaching-enjoy!

Hello sweet Gorgeous!
Here I am with Tory Johnson of Spark & Hustle, Women for Hire and ABC job segments.
Look at me with my blonde hair-geez! It's like my friends should have told me, right?
Well, it's my turn to talk to you about bullying but before I do, here's the link to Tory Johnson and how her amazing resources can help you ladies, no matter what stage of life you are in! http://sparkandhustle.com/ or http://womenforhire.com/ .
Now when I think of bullying-I think of sideways glances, harsh words and exclusion. I think being left out and looked down upon is as painful as being physically assaulted.
So I have 3 simple steps to reach out of your comfort zone and be a comfort to someone else! Use this at home, in school, at the store, in church or wherever you go!
1. Use your eyes to smile at someone-you can show kindness and love with soft simple eye contact
2. Use your words to edify one another-like the old saying says "if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all", and in our modern day lives I ask you to go one step further, say something kind. Keep it simple, just say something kind.
3. Include someone new in your circle of friends-reach out, if no one is reaching to you-then be the one to stretch! You can do it!
Finally, here's a movie resource to give you a visual demonstration: visit the website then get a copy to watch! http://tosavealifemovie.com/index.php
I love hearing from you-thanks for your comments, keep 'em coming!

Dear Gorgeous,
October is National Anti-Bullying campaign month and here on the blog I am devoting an entire week to posts from amazing women who are ready with an encouraging word to help you. Read on and enjoy some encouragement from 2011 Miss Arizona Jennifer Sedler!

"It is our choices ... that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities."
- J. K. Rowling

Each of our lives is a result of a series of choices: some we have had the ability to make ourselves, and some which have been made for us. And yet even when choices are made for us, we still have the ability to choose one thing: our reaction. No one chooses to be bullied, yet you can make an impact in another’s life by intervening, and becoming one of life’s greatest blessings-a friend.

I was bullied as I child, so I understand what an impact it makes on a person’s life. But instead of getting even, I distracted myself with big dreams and high goals, and showed them exactly what kind of “loser” I was. ; ) Choose to react positively, and stop the bullying chain! –Jennifer Sedler, Miss Arizona 2011
