Big Announcement from Makeup University

 Hi ya Gorgeous,

Today is a special day and I have a bit of an announcement for my makeup artist beauty blogger Youtube'ing friends!

The lil passion project that I am working on, Jael: A Western Tale, which is a steam punk inspired western film.

I'm hiring two makeup artists who have beauty blogs or Youtube channels to come work the set for a day of social media and makeup applications on the extras during the big dance scene.

Here is the video announcement for you! Good luck and I look forward to seeing you in June!

Generation Beauty: en route to an amazing weekend of makeup and more!

 Hi ya Gorgeous!
Ohhh emmm geee! I'm so excited to be invited to Generation Beauty by Ipsy again.
I am really looking forward to connecting with more YouTubers and brands this trip and lining up some serious collabs!

Speaking of collabs, the first for 2016 is coming up with Victoria Valentino doing a Valentine's Day look with Rimmel London. Stay tuned for that.

In the meantime, be sure and tag along on Twitter and Instagram for the daily updates from LA Live!

World Ocean Day 2015: a day late for a reason

 Hi ya Gorgeous!
Yesterday was World Ocean Day. I chose to write about it the day after because I think that sometimes, the hoopla of the day keeps the issue in front of people and in their thoughts, but just for that day.

So in an effort to continue the cause for a healthy ocean, I write today!

Here's the low down from the World Ocean day website:
The theme for this year is Healthy oceans, healthy planet. Explore the site to learn how you can hold an event for World Oceans Day, or take action for the ocean on your own.
World Oceans Day, held every June 8th, is the United Nations-recognized day of ocean celebration and action. People all over our blue planet organize celebrations – which can be a huge event in your community, a special announcement, or anything in between – to support action to protect the ocean. This year, the theme is Healthy oceans, healthy planet, and we’re making a special effort to stop plastic pollution.

I absolutely love the ocean and it's creatures. Some I like to eat, some are kind of scary.
I think that the reducing plastic is key to help heal the ocean.

While I Generation Beauty in Los Angeles the water was in a box. Like instead of having a bottle of water, it was a box of water, like a milk carton. I happen to think that's brilliant and why didn't we switch to that sooner?

So let's talk product. It wouldn't be a Makeup University post without it!

The Wrap: final thoughts on Generation Beauty and prepping for GenBeauty New York

Holla Gorgeous,
Whenever I travel and come home to my loves, I use the saying "I walk through the door running" because the cats, kid and dog are all ready to see me and of course the laundry, dishes, mail and life are waiting.

So as I am getting to all of those details, I have a few final thoughts for you on Generation Beauty and some help for getting ready for the New York event.

Goofy pictures are the best. I know as beauty bloggers and YouTubers it's all about always being "on" and having a full face of makeup and perfect smile, angle and look.

Well. Here I am mid-something in my Smashbox head shot photo session with Steven Khan and I think this one is my fave. Not because it's perfect, but because it's not.

Sometimes, perfect is in being imperfect.
