Mother's Day Hairstyles with L'Anza Healing Oil & Dry Texture

The Mother's Day weekend a'la my birthday weekend is upon us! True, it's Thursday and perhaps a bit early - but no worries - there is still plenty of time to kick start the party!

I'm doin' up my do with the L'Anza Keratin Healing Oil Lustrous Finishing Spray and L'Anza Healing Style Dry Texture Spray in  a two step style to go from day to night.

The day time luncheon event I am wearing my hair down and then for the evening I am doing a half updo with messy braids.

The L'Anza dry texture spray gives some "grit" or grip to the hair which makes the braids hold better when I pull the hairs to make them wide.

The L'Anza healing oil gives the lightest sheen and nourishing oil to the hair while fighting frizz and fuzz out from humidity.  My desert home doesn't really have humidity though when the party moves down to the river for a concert - I'm going to want humidity help!

Glowing Green Smoothie Recipe for looking good and feeling good!

Here's a summer smoothie recipe from Kimberly Snyder for you to keep you looking and feeling good!

The Glowing Green Smoothie® Recipe

Author: Kimberly Snyder

Serves: 64 oz

Ingredients

·         1-2 cups very cold, filtered water

·         ¾ pound organic romaine lettuce, rough chopped, about 1 head

·         ½ head large bunch or small bunch organic spinach

·         3-4 organic celery stalks, halved

·         1 organic apple, cored, seeded, quartered

·         1 organic pear, cored, seeded, quartered

·         1 organic banana, peeled

·         ½ fresh organic lemon, peeled, seeded

·         bunch organic cilantro with stems (optional)

·         bunch organic parsley with stems (optional)

Instructions

1.       Place water, romaine, spinach, celery, and optional ingredients, if using, into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure lid.

2.       Starting the blender on a low speed, blend until smooth.

3.       Gradually moving to higher speeds Add apple, pear, banana and lemon to the blender and blend until smooth.

Conquering Cultural Stress with Dr Murad

Thursday. Where did the week go? Wow. Where did the month of April go?

Life moves pretty fast.
I just finished reading the new book by Dr Howard Murad called Conquering Cultural Stress: The Ultimate Guide to Anti-Aging and Happiness.

I'm combining that review with the  #shadeAmerica campaign that Murad has teamed up with alongside the American Academy of Dermatology with the goal to shade 1 million chidlren over the next five years by building shade structures in parks and playgrounds across America.

FabFitFun Winter VIP box-unveiled!

Lent has started. How ya doin'?

I'll tell ya how I'm doin'-I'm clickin' right along on my goal of training for a few marathon and triathlon events this year!

I unveiled it on YouTube already-but today I want to share the Zuma dvd that is in the box and is mixing up my tri training. It's so fun! I love going to a Zumba class but there are not any in my area. Yes, I live in the sticks!

2015 SAG Awards tonight featuring special award winner Debbie Reynolds

It's red carpet season alright! Tonight the 2015 SAG Awards are on TBS. The SAG Awards tend to be a strong indicator of who will win an Oscar. The SAG Awards features both film and television performances meaning the star power will be in full effect!

Debbie Reynolds' Special Award: She's received Oscar, Emmy, Tony and Golden Globe nominees. In addition, the 82-year-old has starred in more than 50 films, two Broadway shows and two TV series. Let's just say this woman is more than deserving of the 51st Life Achievement Award. An added treat? Daughter Carrie Fisher will present the prestigious trophy tonight.

Debbie Reynolds looks amazing and I suspect she is using some amazing skin care. Lumene perhaps?
