AminoGenesis Perfect Reflection...not just for athletes

I personally tried both and have a lovely report for you:
The eye crème is gentle, light, emollient, and absorbs quickly into the skin. This is not the traditional thick sticky eye crème but a thin, silky milky concoction that glides over the eye area. I did not experience “morning after eye care” puffiness. I think with continued use, this product could produce some serious results!

Now, I also tested the 17 Amino Acid filled “Perfect Reflection” which is a serum!

Remember, serums are treatments, like a vitamin for the skin, and are to be used first with a moisturizer over it. Keeping in the system of the family of products tends to work better than mixing and matching serums with crèmes with washes and moisturizers.

The Perfect Reflection went in to the skin quickly, and smoothly, didn’t bead or ball up, nor did it take a lot of massaging to work it into the skin. I pulled the product down the neck line and over the décolleté to keep the anti-aging process moving south as body parts go that direction too.

It has a light scent, and I think what I am smelling is the “aminos”. It’s not citrusy, but amino’ey.

Yes, I think I just made up a word!
In short, I enjoyed the products and recommend them for the anti-aging skin lover who enjoys a system of products and is looking for maximum results from a product they have invested in.

Alaffia Prepares Shipment of 2,000 Bicycles Slated for Disadvantaged Students in Togo, West Africa

Olympia, WA, June 2, 2008 – During the past 18 months, Alaffia Sustainable Skin Care has collected more than 2,000 used bicycles with the help of local volunteers and natural foods stores. On July 8, 2008, Alaffia will send their second shipment of bicycles to Togo, West Africa, where they will be distributed to disadvantaged students, mainly girls. Alaffia’s Bicycles for Education program is designed to encourage rural youth to stay in school by providing transportation to students who walk up to 10 miles a day to attend school.

The Bicycles for Education program is critical for empowering youth and decreasing poverty in Togo, where the average yearly income is less than $300. While the majority of girls and boys in Togo complete primary school, attendance drops off rapidly in higher grades. According UNICEF, 90% of girls in rural areas drop out before finishing secondary school. The time and energy required to walk to school are deterrents to continuing school for girls, who have more household chores than boys. Olowo-n’djo Tchala, founder of Alaffia and Togolese native, states “We believe that these bicycles will provide an incentive for girls to remain in school”.

Togo will not be able to move out of poverty without educating its youth. The lack of education in the female population leads to the continuation of gender and economic inequalities. “We feel it is especially important to empower our female students, and for this reason, this second shipment will be primarily distributed to female students in 50 different villages. I strongly believe that our communities in West Africa will gain the tools for self-empowerment through projects that encourage respect and gender equality” says Tchala.

Recycle your lip color and the model test shoots

Creating lip gloss where there once was none
Okay, so the news is reporting that everything is going south in a hand basket. Sure, gas is high, jobs are scarce and you need to get a fresh look on a pinch back budget.

What to do?

Well, you and I both know that you have a ton, I mean a ton of half used lip products from glosses to lipsticks lurking somewhere in your handbag, desk drawer, bathroom drawer and I would even go so far as to say your glove compartment.
Nothing goes to waste in my kit. I keep plastic snap lid pallets around for this very reason. If you don’t have any, a pill box, the kind that is marked with the days of the week will work also.

I would separate them one for lipsticks and one for glosses and if you want to take it a step further, categorize them from their finish: ie: matte, semi-matte, gloss, moisturizing, get the idea?

Scrape the “bullet” which is that little bit of product used to secure the lipstick into the tube so it can be twisted up by the base, and press it into the pill box or plastic pallet.

Do some good smooshing and mashing of the product to make it soft and pliable. A good home made tool for getting the bullet out is a qtip snapped in half, then use a plastic spatula that is made for cosmetics. Most likely one came with your eye cream or night cream if they are in jars and not air tight pumps.

Once the lipstick is crammed in, consider mixing colors and finishes to create new colors for your summer look.

The possibilities are endless!

Not to mention, now you have several shades and lip looks in one container. Pack this in a snack sized Ziploc baggie with a retractable lip brush and a nude liner and you have a beauty pallet that can go from casual to business to night time party til the wee hours all in one!

Plus, in a real tight jam, some of that lip product could be dabbed onto cheeks and substitute for a rouge if you don’t carry any with you.
See, necessity is always the mother of invention!
