Father's day is coming up on June 20th and now is a good time to start thinking of ways to bless your dad. You know him as the head of the household and leader of the pack called your family. But now, let's think of him as a man who could use a really good:....fill in the blank? Most likely not another apron to use while grilling and certainly not a tie. So, why not look into some Jack Black skincare product for him?

A sample came to the blog and I shaved my legs with the beard lube and wore the Double Duty Face Moisturizer with spf 20. Let me remind you that men have thicker textured skin so whereas I'm happy to test a product, sheesh, this one was a bit much for my skin type.

I finished my sampling with the Jack Black Hand Healer and this stuff is amazing. I have really dry hands and cuticles that could double as a pin cushion pain free because they are so thick! Alas, enter the Jack Black Hand Healer and it didn't soften them a bit. So naturally I put a thick layer on my feet and covered them with socks. Time will tell how that experiment turns out.

This line is cruelty free, and good for vegans. Guess I better call Josh the vegan photographer who helps with the videos and test this out on him and see if it gets the vegan seal of approval.

Good luck finding the right gift for dad and check back for a Dad product giveaway...any day now...

Beard Lube Conditioning Shave with Jojoba and Eucalyptus

An entirely new way to shave. Unlike traditional shaving foams and gels which can dry out skin, our award winning Beard Lube is a pre-shave oil, shave cream and facial skin treatment in one easy-to-use product specially formulated for men's shaving needs. The unique formula contains phospholipids - a rich source of essential fatty acids that are essential to the function of cell membranes - to bind moisture to the skin and support the natural skin barrier. The lightweight, penetrating formula not only helps prepare your beard by penetrating and softening whisker growth, it holds in moisture so your shaving blade glides easily. Refreshes skin, too, for an easier, smoother shave and less razor burn. The unique see-through texture lets you see where you're shaving, helping to prevent nicks and cuts--especially great for shaving side burns, moustache and head. Won't clog your blade, because it's super light and rinses easily. Fragrance-free. Colorant-free. Dermatologist tested. Vegan.

You know, I just love the stuff that shows up for the blog. I mean, truly, the blog gets the best blessings! So when this arrived I was intrigued. Seriously.
Why the intrigue? Because I clean less than volcanos erupt. Though I do change my lipliner, gloss, lipstick and sometimes eyemakeup a few times a day, hence the expertise.

So for the sake of science I tried it and what a new sensation to be cleaning and have the chemicals not burn my eyes. (Which normally results in a need to reapply my mascara, so why clean in the first place)

I remember seeing vintage ads for this product Bon Ami. Turns out it has been around for quite some time like over a century and used to be in a powder form though now is a liquid. It comes in a free and clear of scent version or a tangerine thyme scent. It's success is based on it's limestone ingredient mixed with biodegradable cleaning agents made from corn, coconut and palm.

So with the recyled and recyclable packaging it's a win win version imported from the past and ready to use today. Try some!To learn some more about the Bon Ami history and where to get in your town visit www.bonami.com

Want Shiny, Sexy Hair? We'll Help You Get It

These 12 tricks will help you to say goodbye to breakage, flyaways and lackluster hair -- for good.

Hello friends of humidity and sun dried skin with a hint of beachiness!
I find there are two things that make me shiny: humidity and being in Costco for a long time.

Thank goodness I sampled the h20 Sea Clear mattifying foam wash as you can see in the photo. It did a nice foamy job of cleansing and my skin felt clean. The mask was intense! It dried rapidly and pulled the skin taught which I find to be a secondary bonus. Now the toner is separated in the bottle and you need to gently shake it a bit to mix it for use.

My skin already felt clean, and when I used it I could smell a strong astringent nature to it. I think if you have acne prone skin, live in humidity all the time or have naturally oily skin that this toner would be a blessing to you! Or at least help you cut back on your blotting paper usage.
Visit this link to find out more about the line: http://www.h20plus.com/retail2002/Catalog.aspx

Funny, I think that there used to be a retail store in Scottsdale Fashion Square on the lower level next to the food court ( of course I know all the stores around the food court...) and I remember walking in and smelling the ocean. Awesome!

Enjoy the beauty bits and stay tuned for some videos. I've got some freshies ready to launch on Monday!

Do You Live In a Best Hair Color City?

We did the numbers for you and discovered which cities have ideal conditions for long-lasting, beautiful hair color.

Hello! So I spent over a month using Revitabrow to grow some brows. Here they are.

Then after growing brows they got a bit long and unruly! So it's time to go to a brow threader to have them shaped. Enter this place in the mall.

It was clean and affordable at $10 for both brows and the space in between. My threader was Brooke Leopold and she is there most days, so if you like my brows and want yours threaded too, go see her!

Now here is a close up of just how big my brows are.

I love them, but they need some guidance. Remember before I used the Revitabrow treatment on them, they were very light in color and thin, sparse and always had to be drawn on.

That's Brooke in the photo working the threads as they pull across my hairy eyebrows. It is a unique sensation. It pulls, but it doesn't hurt? Oddly enough, it's relaxing.

You know, I'm sitting in a reclined chair in the middle of the mall having my brows threaded and luckily the mall wasn't busy. I suppose that the threading isn't as garish looking as being waxed in public?

There are more services offered: like a chin thread, a full face thread or anywhere that you need hair removed can be threaded.

At one point, this hair removal system turns into a tag team effort where in order to get the underside of the brow I have to hold my eyelid shut tight and pull my brow up, sort of like eyebrow Twister game without the colored spots and falling over. This is how Brooke wields the thread for precise brow shaping, with my help!
This is a close up of how the thread pulls the
brow hair. It's two pieces of regular sewing thread twisted together and somehow it grabs and pulls?

Now that the stray hairs are gone it's time to clean up the length of the brow hairs and trim the tops.

All done! Look at the difference between the first picture and the last! Gone are the wild and woolly brows that I grew in using Revitabrow and now I have lovely shapely full brows! Oh so exciting!

There are Shapes Brow Bars all over in Westcor shopping malls. Brooke Leopold did mine and she can do yours too!
