FLOTUS Friday: Brows with Milani brow fix kit

Hi ya Gorgeous!
Thank you so much for tuning in today! It is another live video as I have been going every which way!
I'm starting a Friday series - FLOTUS Friday to be exact where I track and review the beauty of the First Lady of the United States.

Today, it's Melania's brows with Milani brow fix kit. Yes, I have the e.l.f. brow gel as well and will do in a different video. I bought these both at my local Burbank CVS store.

Overall - I like it! The gel is wearing well and not smudging. There is a bit of a learning curve versus using powder, which is my favorite. I am liking the look and feel. Note to new users, the thinner and firmer the slant tip brush - the better! These two brands are the ABH (Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow dupes!)

Enjoy the video - happy Friday the 13th and here is an Amazon affiliate link to get some Milani brow fix kit for you too!

Finally - happy Friday the 13th!

Pickled Eggs! How to Make Homestead Heart's Recipe for Homemade Holiday Gifts!

Hi ya Gorgeous!
When would now be a good time to get started on making some beautiful, hand crafted, tasty, home made gifts for the holidays?

Remember, no matter what it looks like in the world, you can choose joy and create meaningful moments and memories for your loved ones! I still think it's going to be the best year ever! 2020 is just coming in slowly to awesomeness.

Everything I learned about making these is from my Mom, and she learned from Homestead Heart. I absolutely love her channel- please check it out here: https://youtu.be/W3BOzmweKys

Recipe: 36 boiled eggs  - 12 per quart jar
Wide mouth glass quart jars
1 cup apple cider vinegar (for bonus flavor)
1 cup white vinegar
1 cup water
3-4 bay leaves
1/2 tsp dry mustard powder
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp garlic powder NOT granules
1/2 tsp salt *do not use iodized salt - use canning or kosher or himalayan
1 tsp or tablespoon of red pepper flakes - add heat depending on your taste
FRESH garlic pieces, or jalapeno slices to layer in jar Louisiana red hot sauce - about 1/4 cup per jar to top off brine with.

REMEMBER to do the AIR BUBBLE - if you do not have a fancy tool, just use a butter knife.

Final step - you MUST leave this in the back of the fridge, hidden away from sight for a minimum of TWO WEEKS. The eggs need ample time to pickle and marinate in the sauce and be zesty and delicious! The "how to" is in the video - enjoy watching - and please let me know in the comments if you make this recipe!

What Face OIL Goes First in Skincare ? ☆~

Hi ya Gorgeous!

How you doin' on this fine November day? Has the weather changed to winter in your area? Finally, here in California it is cooler and personally, it couldn't have come a moment sooner! I am so ready for boots and vests, turtlenecks and darker colors! I've been using a sample of Symbiome No3 face oil in my daily skincare routine along with the Neutrogena retinol face oil.

Today in this video, I have a 'live' from YouTube showing you how I use my face oils. I have switched to a cleansing oil in the winter months, and when I have heavy makeup on. I also have been using a retinol face oil from Neutrogena and a sample from Symbiome of their No. 3 oil.

I use a layering approach in the evening and today for this video I show what I normally do in case it can help you with your oils.  I think there needs to be a moment between layers? Like in your skincare routine, take a moment in between applying to let it absorb in your skin.

Enjoy the video! Below are links to Symbiome and their new unique take on skincare and caring for the biome of the skin. Then I have some Amazon affiliate links for you to use to get your skincare winter ready!

DC Monday UPDATE 😁🤩 & Question

Hi ya Gorgeous!
Happy Monday!
I am back from Washington DC and have a report from the mission field. It was so good. It wasn't easy though it was very, very worth it!

I also have some questions that I could use your help with!

Where are you at with Black Friday sales?
Do you want posts that focus on the date or are you ready for sales and deal promotions now?

I'm asking because  I normally do a MakeupUniversity 12 Days of Giving series, and I also do a focus on Black Friday/Shop Small Saturday/Cyber Monday and Giving Tuesday set of blog posts to bring you the best deals possible!
But! 2020 so far, has yielded a wavy timeline. I'm seeing ads for Black Friday now, in the first week of November and I'm thinking it's anybody's game and all holds are off!
Let me know in the comments what your strategy is for the upcoming holiday season!

Makeup in Space?

 Hi ya Gorgeous!

Happy Friday! Oh wow - what a whirlwind! We just got back from Washington DC and it still feels like a dream to have been able to make that journey with my son. To everyone who donated and made the mission possible, thank you!

One of our favorite parts to the trip, was a journey into Virginia to the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy a Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.

We took a subway train, car ride and then bus ride to get back to the station to take the train. It was definitely an adventure and a good lesson for my son. There is very little mass public transit in Arizona or California meaning we rely on the car the majority of the time.

Washington DC had a clean, easy to use metro subway station with lots of options for quick travel. The fares seemed to be reasonable?  You buy a card for $2, then load it with money to ride on - and when you exit through the turn style you swipe your card and it debits the cost of that trip from the card.

Easy peasy.

Now about the space makeup that was on display in what I would call a "memorabilia" case.

Look closely at the tags and you can see that from left to right: eyeliner, mascara, eye shadow, makeup remover, lipstick and creme blush.  I thought this to be the coolest thing ever. Ladies in space lookin' good! I think sometimes, putting on a fresh face and a pop of color on your lips can brighten your mood and help you take on the day.  This display did not say who the makeup belonged to or which astronaut traveled with or used it.  I just liked seeing the makeup as part of the history of NASA.  Way to go Revlon!

There was a second display of some of the male astronaut body care products including lotion, deodorant, razors, tooth paste, shave cream and lip balm. The white with tan stripe pants in the background of the photo are a type of diaper to be worn under the flight suit to allow for a bathroom break.

Finally, the shuttle that has been to space and back - meet Discovery. It's on display in a hangar in the museum and you can walk all around it but not in it. It was a real delight to see this piece of living history and possibly the makeup that rode in it.
