Hi ya Gorgeous!
Happy Wednesday - around here, that means it's Wine Wednesday! In other news we are also one day closer to the back to school grind. Ugh.

Today I have a review for you of a wine that was gifted to me. It came from Total Wine and is available in mass retailers as well. I'm not sure of the cost though I'm pretty sure that it's under $10, which is the criteria for a review.

So enjoy this video and if you haven't subscribed to the YouTube channel, please do!

Who Needs Road Trip Games For Entertainment? Goliath Games Got Whatcha Need!

Hi ya Gorgeous!
Oh July is half way over and the new school year is less than 2 weeks away! We aren't ready! We have 2 more road trips coming up, just lil jaunts and we want to savor every second of it before we get back into the grind of commuting to school again. Ugh!

I just received samples from Goliath Games of some fun family games that can be played on a road trip, in the RV and while at the camp site!  I'm interested in anything that will get my cub off of his device!

When the box arrived we tore it open to find some fun choices for entertainment and making a long road trip feel shorter.  There is a stretch of road on the 40 for us that feels like forever, even though it really is only 2 hours worth of driving.

Thank you Goliath Games for the samples which include from left to right in the photo, iTop, Flippn Chips, Magnetic Games, Charades for Kids and Color Smash.

All of these can be played on the road and are great for storing in the RV for times when you get to the campsite and want something to play at the picnic tables.

My son was most intrigued by the battery powered top and the chinese checkers aspects of the Magnetic Games which actually has multiple choices in the one blue box! He was saying that the charades was like Pictionary - to which I said, that charades came first! We haven't tried the Color Smash yet and we are saving for the beach next week!

You can find Goliath Games on Amazon here

Here is a bit more about Goliath Games and these choices:

These games were made with the travelling family in mind and are extremely portable. They are the perfect size to be thrown into a camping bag, simply leave room for plenty of s’mores ingredients.

Create a new family tradition this camping trip with iTop, spin it to win it. iTop is an incredibly sophisticated spinning top that can keep track of the number of spins spun. Have a friendly family competition to see who can spin the highest score and unlock the most hidden challenges. Who will be the ultimate iTop master?
Take a break from hiking with Color Smash, the fun, fast card game of color coordination and fast reflexes. Color Smash includes 113 colorful slap cards, each one featuring a different color and word combo. Family members take turns laying out their slap cards, until there is a splat with the correct color word on it then SLAP! Be the first player to collect the most cards to win.
6-In-1 Travel Magnetic Games has something everyone will love including Checkers, Chess, Backgammon, Parcheesi, Chinese Checkers, and Snakes and Ladders. It is the perfect travel companion as the built-in storage drawer holds everything your family needs. Let siblings take turns selecting their favorite game this camping trip.

Summer Skin Resuce with Ola Hawaiian Body Products -Sugar Polish

Hi ya Gorgeous!
Happy Monday!
Oh how I love a Monday! I get so much accomplished on a Monday! This summer barely has 2 weeks left in it for us!
Yes, the summer weather and months continue but for us, school goes back the first week of August.
Oy!

We have been in the pool, in the desert, on the road, and then some. My skin is dry to begin with now add the chlorine from the pool and of course, sunshine!

I just received samples of the new sugar polishes from Ola Tropical Apothecary, in the scents Rainforest and Pikake-note about this scent, it's basically gardenia. Oh my goodness, gardenia is my most favorite fragrance!

These are handmade with natural and organic ingredients! The scent is from essential oils and lasts on the skin after washing. The coconut oil that is the base for the scrub feels great on dry pool baked skin.

I've been using the Pikake over the weekend and it's already helping my dry feet and hands to be softer. The other scent I have is Rainforest - and that tub of goodness is a reader giveaway on my Instagram - so get in on it using this link!

Hawaiian Body Products demonstrates an environmentally conscious business model that is committed to preserving land, people and culture. Robin and Chris ensure that these values are what drive their business, making sure that every step is done with integrity and respect.  Being close to the source is important to create synergy with local farmers and the community.

Build-a-Bear Pay Your Age Promotion

Hi ya Gorgeous!
Quick post to jump in on a Thursday, which is unscheduled- to support the many moms who wanted to do something wonderful, make a great memory for their kids and get a prized Build-a-Bear bear today and had a different experience.

Mom - good for you! Build-a-Bear, good for you for trying to do something great for your fans and sorry it went sideways.

Don't know what I'm talking about, let me fill you in. Today, July 12th, Build-a-Bear ran a store promotion, that you could build a bear of your choice, for your age.

For those of you who are mom shaming the many moms and families standing in very long lines, in the heat and inclement weather, thank you for thinking of your kids joy!   To the moms who took their kids out of school to go get a bear for the price of their age, thank you for making a life memory for them!

For those with the hate, shame, and over all verbal online beating for the moms wanting to get a bear, the shame is actually on you. Obviously, you haven't been to Build-a-Bear!  The quote that I read that made me want to log on and write about my own experience was

"So stupid! Just go tomorrow and pay full price! Problem solved"

That was the straw.

So my experience with Build-a-Bear, which we have lovingly in our household termed "Build-a-Billion" is because of the price. The stuffed animal my son got is and was amazing! The experience from the Build-a-Bear staff was above par! Oh how she took such loving time and care with my son creating Roy Meower seen below.

Everything in the store was magical. From selecting the stuffed animal skin, to the stuffing and her having him help put the fluff in and then the heart. Oh my gosh. Made me cry in the store!  If you haven't been, this is a spoiler alert!

The Build-a-Bear care bear builder had my son hold the stuffed red heart in his hands and warm it up while singing a little song to start it beating.

Then Roy Meower went on to be sewed up and we we picked an outfit for him.  Oh it was fun and my son was very happy with his new stuffed animal, a tiger, named Roy Meower.

Oh. Then I had to pay. He was given a $25 gift card to spend at Build-a-Bear, and I was adding it up as we went along in the process and the little bits of loving care and attention were adding up! Fast!

Grand total at the end of this magical give birth to a personalized stuffed animal experience was $75 dollars. $74.97 to be exact. Was it worth it? Yes. Absolutely. Would I do it again. No.

Yes, there was a discount bin of animals to choose from - but they were funky and girly and my son would have none of that. Then I could have asked my son to not do the stuffed heart, more fluff, an outfit and so on - though - this is about the experience. And we got it, we just paid for it.

So today as I'm reading the mean spirited mom shaming attacks at these families wanting a bit of joy and magic for the price of their age, $4, or $7, $18 dollars - I say you good for you! You made a memory just not the one you were expecting.

I'm really hoping that Build-a-Bear does right by the people in line and offer them a voucher, one that is time and date stamped, signed by the manager guaranteeing that they can come back next week and exchange for the same deal, a bear for the price of their age.

Today has been a social media nightmare for Build-a-Bear BUT it doesn't have to stay that way!  Just think of how over the next few weeks the social feed can be filled with happy smiling faces hugging a bear they just created, for the price of their age, when they came back to the store to see that yes, a business and a brand can keep their word and their promise!  Talk about customers for life!

Wine Wednesday: California Dream Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Hi ya Gorgeous!
Phew! Just got back from a whirlwind trip from my small town to the big city to do back to school shopping.

Yes. You read that right. BTS is here in the state of Arizona. We still have a few weeks, though the big sales ended today and I wanted to take advantage of those.  Since we start so early in August, when the national back to school sales start in late September, we've already been in school for weeks!

Now, to the blog post. It's Wednesday - that means wine time! Today I have a great under $10 wine review for you of California Dream. It's a medium bodied fruity cabernet sauvignon and if you like cherry, you'll like this wine! Enjoy!

Thank you for tuning in today! This video is a review of a great under $10 wine from Walmart.
I liked it - and you may too!

The Pink Steering Wheel Chronicles - a book review for you

Hi ya Gorgeous!
Happy Monday and happy on the way to mid July holy smokes where does the summer go!

The fam took the Independence Day holiday to be more like a week. There really didn't seem to be a point to working the beginning of the week or the end of the week - so we didn't! We just enjoyed adventures, cook outs, swimming, movies and books!

I received a copy of The Pink Steering Wheel Chronicles by Laura Fahrenthold for review from the publisher, and boy am I glad I did! Normally, this isn't a book that I would pick up since I normally only read diy, self help, finance and film manuals, though this is a gem of a read!

This is a love story. A true story. An inspiring story. And a life lesson manual all rolled in to one book.

The author, Laura Fahrenthold, and her two teenage daughters set out across the country in an RV to help heal the sudden loss of a most beloved family member.

Laura doesn't hold anything back. Her work as a journalist for Woman's World and The New York Daily News shines in her conversational writing style and the telling of her journey in a story format that is both entertaining and relatable.

What I enjoyed most in the book is how Laura related the death of her daughters father, and let them have a say in  their healing process and what to do on the journey to help them move forward.

These gals learned hands on the RV lifestyle and took the daily situations as they happened. It's refreshing to see someone live life with such gusto while such sorrow and sadness was waiting to just consume them.

If anything, this book can be read as a life manual for what to do when the love of your life suddenly collapses and dies.

Get this book on Amazon here: https://amzn.to/2m255JI

She has a fun blog that is keeping updates on what is going on with the family, post pink steering wheel adventures!

July Book Club Reads for This Month - From Funny to Study

Hi ya Gorgeous!
Hello July! Who else is ready for an exceptional month? I know I am!
I love books as much as I love wine. On many occasions, I like them together!

Today, I have a 2 suggestions from my reading that you just may enjoy also. Something to know ahead of time, I rarely ever read fiction. Unless, it's Game of Thrones Fire and Ice!

So knowing that - here are some faves that I plan to re-read and then some new ones too!

What are you reading this month?

This  book from Tim Ferris is part read, part study and all learning! My book is so dog-eared and highlighted with sticky notes to boot! It's for everyone and every age too!

Get it on Amazon here: https://amzn.to/2Ncq2hg

This book is what you need when humor is prescribed for sanity! It's quirky good fun and full of anecdotal wisdom, so get your free copy on Amazon through the Kindle Unlimited program!
https://amzn.to/2tJ8zFa

Finally, some deep thoughts - check out The Crowd: A Study of the Popular Mind

Get it on Amazon here:  https://amzn.to/2tMkpOP

One of the most influential works of social psychology in history, The Crowd was highly instrumental in creating this field of study by analyzing, in detail, mass behavior. The book had a profound impact not only on Freud but also on such twentieth-century masters of crowd control as Hitler and Mussolini — both of whom may have used its observations as a guide to stirring up popular passions. In the author's words, "The masses have never thirsted after the truth. Whoever can supply them with illusions is easily their master; whoever attempts to destroy their illusions is always their victim."
Although the volume focuses on crowd psychology, it is also brilliantly instructive on the effects of the generally accepted beliefs of a nation's citizenry on the processes of history. Among the topics covered here are general characteristics and mental unity of the crowd; the crowd's sentiments and morality; its ideas, reasoning power, and imagination; opinions and beliefs of crowds and the means used by leaders to persuade; classification of crowds, including criminal and electrical assemblages, as well as the functioning of criminal juries and parliamentary assemblies.
A must-read volume for students of history, sociology, law, and psychology, The Crowd will also be invaluable to politicians, statesmen, investors, and marketing managers. "Any study of crowd behavior, popular psychology, fascism, etc. would do well to begin with Le Bon's work." — Anson Rabinbach, Professor of History, Princeton University.

Enjoy the reading and let me know what you are reading in the comments below!
