Reviverance makeup: how to make it wear through the very long intense day to night event

Hello!
Last night began the Growing in the Supernatural 4 reviverance. These events are powerful, transforming, fun, and long. I know some products that you can wear that will last 12-14 hours, though I don't recommend them.

If it were me, which in this case, I will be there, or you ( just in case you are too) how to stay fresh through all of the praise, worship, prayer, Word that goes out, breaks, back into session and it starting all over again:

Pack a mini bag with you ( something small that I would take to the set instead of hauling the full kit) to put in your purse, Bible case:

1. Lightweight tinted moisturizer
After all the coffee, sitting, singing, it's a good idea to freshen up by going to the bathroom, using some cool water on a towel/napkin to wipe down your face and neck avoiding the eyes. Then put a thin layer of the tinted moisturizer on.

2. Pan of translucent powder and brush ( retractable kind is best)
When the tacky of the moisturizer dries down, use the brush and powder to mattify the skin. No compact puffs please...too covered in oil and grime leading to a mid event pimple. Ahhh! Not that!

3. Lipstain/gloss duo in any shade you love!
This is to add color to cheeks and lips that lasts. Use the gloss to give a slickery effect on the mouth and keep you praising ready!

4. Small pan (or single shadow) of highlighter powder for top of cheek bone/eyebrow bone
This you need to add some pop to the eye and brightness...apply with small brush or finger

5. Mascara!
This is a biggy. The more botanical brands can be layered over themselves and some of the mineral oil petrochemical kind can't because it clumps and forms to spikes on each eye. Be very careful here so you don't pull the lashes out, but gently waggle the tip of the brush over the already made up lashes to add a fresh coat of color, not necessarily another "building" coat.

The last thing I do is hose down in my favorite fragrance, usually a scented lotion so it does'nt gag the person next to me. I love a strong floral like Dior' J'Adore or Chanel No. 5! Fragrance is the perfect accesory!

What to do when your eyelid is more like a knee cap

Har har har! You laugh! So do I, and then a sobering moment when I realize that I personally, have very large eyes ( think Marty Feldman ) and alot of eyelid skin that is frankly, quite similiar to a knee cap.

I deal with creasing shadow and moving eyeliner even when I use products that say " they don't crease". Right.

Okay, so if you too have this type of eye, here is some help:

1. Preparing the lid with a primer can help smooth the palette of your lid to apply shadow to. If you don't want to buy the extra product, then using a small synthetic brush and concealer can also create a smoothness.

2. Use a creme eyeshadow because it does crease.
What you say? Yes, use a cream because as your body heat and eyelid folds move the shadow around, you can easily use a clean ring finger or shadow brush to move the more malleable product back into place.

3. Save your most dramatic and detailed shadow wearing for short lived events of photoshoots. The less time the amazing eye makeup has to last, the better chance you have of it not creasing on you and spoiling your beauty focused event!

4. Brides who have knee caps for lids: keep the eyemakeup simple or application really close to the nuptials.

Part of the challenge of the large lid is that when you apply eyeliner and the eye swells a bit, then the line moves up. Looking like you lined your eye in the middle. Even though you didn't!

So this is a main reason why I rarely wear a heavy line on top. If it's a thick liquid cat style, sure because the swelling of the lid will have so much liner on it that the movement isn't as noticeable.

For knee cap eye lid eye liner: use a small stiff shadow brush, doesn't matter if it is narrow, slant tip or square; what does matter that you smudge a broad line of shadow working from the outside corner in.

Now, for style, you can line over the smudgy eyeshadow line to create more definition on the eye.

I hope this helps you fellow large lid ladies. I'm asked alot how I do my own eyes, and I can honestly answer that on a daily basis I am a brows/mascara and what ever color went on my cheeks goes through the center of my lid and I call it done makeup wearer in my every day life due to the nature of my very busy toddler.

If I have more than two minutes to get makeup on, I will smokey smudge my eyeliner to go with my very heavy mascara that I wear everyday, rain or shine!

Equate eye makeup remover and daily facial cleanser: a true grit beauty product review

Okay, call it recession, coming off of the month of July, 3 birthdays and a back to school toddler in this month; basically I'm on a beauty pinch back budget!

First of all, I don't normally use eye makeup remover. Though since I have fallen in love with L'Oreal's Voluminous in Carbon Black, I need it. What is it about this amazing mascara that it won't come off with regular soap and water?

I do normally use a ph balanced face wash, and I like a daily exfoliator whether it comes in a fruit acid, or hydroxy acid. I was out, like bottom of the bottle mix it with some water to try and squeeze one more use out of it kind of bottom of the bottle.

And...I also have one last birthday to cover and alot of traveling and, and and...so, I went to Walmart ( back to school supplies you know) and thought, maybe just maybe I would get the L'Oreal or Olay to tide me over til next month when I can get my normal stuff.

Hmmm. Those products are affordable, but not in my budget this week. And I'm desperate!

For $3.77 each, I got the Walmart store brand called Equate. I picked up the eye makeup remover which was right next to the L'Oreal eyemakeup remover for $6.97. They are the same color, same smell ( you know I opened both in the store and sniffed) different prices.

Fine, I'll try it for that price. The Olay Daily Cleanser was $8.98 and the Equate Daily Facial Cleanser with microbeads and fresh foaming effect was also $3.77.

Hmmm, okay,worth a try? I'm game to try anything because it's still the beginning of the month and I know I won't have beauty slush budget til September!

Honestly, my experience was good. The eye makeup remover worked to loosen up the Carbon Black mascara and remove it. The scent is clean, there is minimal stinging and burning, no oily residue. And when I say stinging and burning, I mean that for me, all eye makeup removers get in the eye and cause some kind of sensation whether good or bad. Though that discomfort is worth the damage not done to my eyelashes in harsh rubbing to get the mascara off.

So, if you want to try the Equate eye makeup remover which is compared to the L'Oreal brand, I can honestly say that for your money ($3.77) it's worth it.

The Equate daily facial cleanser also had a positive test. I like fragrance and this product has a light floral smell to it. The microbeads are a fine grit to exfoliate, I did get a good bubbly lather and it washed clean leaving my skin, smooth, soft and with a hint of moisture.

Which is fine. I do prefer a tight, squeaky clean feeling, though again, for the money outlay of $3.77 this product is worth it if you too are in a beauty pinch back budget and can't afford your normal product choice!

Thank you Walmart for offering a comparable and effective skin care product.

Oh, and by the way, don't ask don't tell when it comes to the chemical ingredient list on these products. It's too long ,too complex and way too many consonants to even beging to describe what's in it. They are cheap, they work, they are not doing the planet a favor. Get over it. It's in the budget. Next month, save the planet and blow the cash!

Hallelujah! It's 08-08-08! 8000 Japanese brides are tying the knot

If you live in Japan, you are married already in a mass ceremony on this significant day.
I saw some photos and some were traditional, and some were modern, but all beautiful!

Today, being 08-08-08 is super significant if you are a praying person because of the massive shift in the Heavenlies as the Earth groans for the Glory of God.

If you are not a praying person, well, then, today is a day, much like 07-07-07 that will not come around for another thousand years.

Take time to celebrate all the goodness of life! If you are going out to a party tonight, why not try a set of false lashes? There are great tutorials on YouTube. Can you believe what is on YouTube?

If it's a more simple at home style celebration, then mix your style up for this momentous date and experiment with a bold lip color, cat eye style eyeliner in a color instead of plain black or maybe rat out your hair and pin it up in a retro style.
