hairdo by HairUWear: an adventure in backstage beauty on the fly!
The peanut recall is officially getting scary. With over 400 products recalled so far, it can be tough to know if your fave PB products safe -- until now
|
|
From your favorite Trader Joe's ice cream to Starbuck's boxed lunches, the FDA found more than 400 nut-based products laced with traces of a salmonella strain. But reading through an unwieldy list like the one on the FDA's website can be mind-numbing. Which is why we created this photo gallery, which has pictures of every product you need to toss. See if you have any of 'em in your pantry now.
|
Oh Gorgeous,
I am so sorry I do not have a hair tutorial video of photos for you-but something happened and thank goodness I had my hairdo by HairUWear sample with me!
I was backstage at a major event doing a lot of talent and turning them around for stage as quickly as possible.
This particular talent, with her messy dirty hair had minutes before she had to be on stage. I pulled the 18" beach curl pony in chocolate copper from my kit to use on her. It was so easy!
I pulled her hair into a high pony tail, secured it. Slipped the beach curl pony comb into the crown above the elastic band, then fastened the velcro, added 2 bobby pins to insure it stayed snug, then wrapped the extension around the velcro to hide it.
The beach curl pony looked fantastic! To make it a more formal updo look for her, I tucked the bottom of the tail under and pinned it near the elastic band to create more of a 'bump' look. To finish the style I spread the 'bump' and secured it to her head with bobby pins then added a hair flower at the base.
It looked classy and beautiful and happened with in minutes. Finally all I had to do was apply some simple HD makeup and primer with Dior warmth and a set of lashes. When she walked on stage you would have never known she had just ran in the back door sweating with a ball cap on!
The bummer is, she kept the hairdo beach curl pony-but I would definitely get another. Why?
Because it is a synthetic fiber hair piece that can be heat styled with a flat iron, curling iron or blown out.
It worked well with a texture paste and hair spray. HairUWear hairdo is created by celebrity hair stylist Ken Paves. Visit the locator page on the website www.hairuwear.com to find a retailer near you.

DWTS Kym Johnson & Hines Ward: hair extensions for stage, prom & weddings!
| Unfortunately, innovation isn't always cheap, but these beauty breakthroughs may be worth the splurge |
| This is a TotalBeauty.com beauty products article Whether you are a woman of means, the type who occasionally treats yourself to beauty indulgences, or someone who only likes to window shop, these high-priced breakthroughs are worth knowing about as they are paving the way to a more beautiful future. |
I love finding a new great thing for simple, easy beauty. Dancing with the Stars dancer Kym Johnson has a hair extension endorsement on the side! You can watch her tonight compete with Hines Ward. DWTS this season is full of so many surprises!
I've tried alot of extensions and the majority that are under a hundred bucks feel really plasticky.
But these don't!
You can see there are 3 different types in the photo and all of these are available at www.HSN.com
Here's what I'm trying on in the video: Bango Tango for instant bangs, Go!Go! for volume and Flirtini for a thick ponytail. All of these can be heat styled and worn curly or straight. These are the dark chocolate brown hair extensions.
Now: enjoy this short video from me demonstrating how to wear these for your prom, wedding, event, or professional photo for your business even!
Then I have also included a fun video of DWTS Kym Johnson and Hines Ward dancing the Samba so you can see these extensions in full swinging action! Enjoy!

Bridal hair extensions! Job interview extensions! Best beauty for busy moms extensions!
TotalBeauty.com reader Kim had a much-needed hair lift in 20 years -- would her new look suit you? |
This is a TotalBeauty.com haircut article Our makeover dream team gave new mom Kim a dramatically different haircut and some gorgeous color. |
Bride-are you getting married soon and want Kate Middleton thick wavy tresses to top with a tiara?
Job interview time and want a full, bouncy, healthy looking head of hair?
Moms do you need a quick hair change for a romantic evening out to create a night never forgotten?
Ladies have I ever got the easy answer for you!
Effortless extensions are easy and affordable-I can prove it!
There is the back of my head-freshly colored with a box of something that told me it was dark
brown but looks an awful lot like black to me!
Here is how easy it is to apply the Effortless Extension-in wavy brown. Simply pull the piece down over the crown of your head, it will look like an 11 pound fishing line but is more resilient in texture.
Next, pull a section of the crown hair ( notice the
angel orb in my hair...oohhh, revelation is coming!) up from under the Effortless Extension piece and let it lay on top of the extension.
Use the special Effortless Extensions brush which is included with the purchase and arrange your hair around the piece.
Wah lah! Easy! This can be pulled into a pony tail,
or braided, or worn in a bridal up do!
This really is easy and snug fitting and no pulling of hair from a clip like a traditional extension.
Go watch the cute video on their main page at

to Bang or not to Bang? Kymaro helps you!
Find out how to squeeze a bit more bliss into your busy schedule |
This is a TotalBeauty.com health & beauty article Take this quiz to find out how starved you are for me-time and what to do about it. |
Happy Friday! Thank God it's Friday! Fall 2010 beauty trend is all about bangs and for those of us who are not about to cut our bangs only to find out four weeks later that we need a trim or to grow them out again; read on about how to snap some in!
The photo shows me wearing the bangs and also as a goatee!
Kymaro makes so many beauty products that are perfect for a busy gal! You can see more of their line of products at www.ubuyez.com
Like any other wig or hair piece there are two small clips that pop open a few comb teeth that you fasten to your hair and then pop close.
It's super easy and holds on thin hair too! My hair is thin and I had no problem holding the bangs in place while I wore them through a busy day!
I did also snap them on my toddler and though he thought it was funny looking, it didn't hurt or pull his hair. Good to know-these bangs are kid tested and approved.
Below is a short how to video to see the pop on and pop off action of the Kymaro bangs.
I'm wearing the Espresso color in the photos and the Chestnut shade is up for grabs.
If you want the Kymaro bangs, subscribe to the blog and YouTube channel. One lucky Chestnut ( or not!) colored hair person ( open to gals and guys!) shall score some simple Fall 2010 beauty trend!
p.s. Did anyone see Naomi Campbell on Oprah yesterday? I kind of feel like these bangs look like the wig/weave she is wearing on the show. Either way, I'm liking them!
