I enjoy Memorial Day for the time of remembrance to honor fallen soldiers and those military persons who have sacrificed for my freedoms. Below are some ideas of how to help active duty soldiers.

Remember to pray for soldiers and their families. It works!

• Send your support to members of the armed forces. Any Soldier is a great organization where service members post what their units’ needs and wants. You can send letters and packages directly to the unit and it will get into the hands of those who don’t get much or any ^mail first.
• Visit your local veterans hospital. Take flowers or homemade goodies and spend some time listening to those who fought and lived to tell their stories.

• Donate handmade greeting cards for troops to send home. Join Operation Write Home in sending blank handmade greeting cards to write home on.
• Volunteer to assemble care packages. Help Operation Gratitude assemble care packages to send to troops deployed in Afghanistan , Iraq , and on ships at sea. (via Cathy)

You know there just aren't words big enough to describe the level of service it takes to be a soldier. I think they are one of a kind people all cut from the same cloth and it's one of dedication, humility, service and honor.

When I was a young girl in high school I took the ASVAB test and scored extremely low, so being in the military wasn't really a path for me. Though when I look back at family members who have served and what they sacrified, and now as I look forward and see the challenges that military families face, willingly to do their jobs: I just think I need to say thanks. It's a small word that carries a great impact.

To all the soldiers: Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines and National Guard; I say thank you. I appreciate you! My family sleeps safe and we go about our daily lives because you fight on a front line amidst hardship; daily.

So I want to give honor where honor is due! This month, all month, from April 1st through the 30th the blog will be giving away a free product to all the comments made by current active duty military. Many of the product lines that I have worked with before are excited to be able to sow into your lives and pay it forward just a wee bit and give you something as a token of appreciation.
