| |  Fragrance: the do's and dont's in the summer
I love fragrance. There was a time, decades ago, that it really was made out of flowers. Now it's all synthetic in a heavy alcohol base.
That's why there are 3 different levels of fragrance:
cologne: the lowest amount of fragrance and the highest amount of water and alcohol. It wears off the quickest.
eau de toilette: a wee bit more fragrance oil and less water and alchol, it wears a little bit longer.
eau de parfum: the best bang for your dollar! a good ratio of fragrance oil to base of alcohol and water.
parfum oil: the most expensive, most fragrant, and the least amount of carrier oil to hold the scent.
Now that you know all this, in the summer the scents are more intense on your skin because of the heat and your perspiration.
To make the scent last and not be overpowering, use a three step process of wash, lotion and spray the scent.
Almost all fragrance lines come with a body wash, body lotion or creme and a bottled scent.
I love to my perfume on to the level that a cloud surrounds me like pig pen is surrounded by dirt in the cartoon Peanuts.
