Obagi rosaclear system!
Rosacea is a skin condition that usually shows up on the cheeks, nose, chin and forehead and appears red, reddish, and splotchy even. It may include papules and pustules which are acne like pimples. It’s common to more than 14 million Americans and many of those with rosacea may not realize that they have it.
There really isn’t a “cure” for rosacea but there is a new and great way to treat it and help manage the symptoms.
Many times, rosacea flare ups can be triggered by emotional situations or stress filled episodes of life…just when you don’t want to appear red in the face, like a job interview!
Rosacea tends to affect those with fair skin most, and both men and women especially those over 30 years of age experience the skin condition.
Now, with the Obagi rosaclear system that was just launched in January 2009, there is a gentle dermatologist tested and allergy tested skin care for calming inflamed, irritated skin.
The Obagi rosaclear system is a prescription based treatment regimen than is non comedogenic ,so pore clogging and pimples will be in check if you are switching from another brand of skincare.
There are just 3 steps and it cleans, protects and moisturizes your skin while calming and soothing rosacea symptoms, while also treating acne like pimples.
Plus you can expect results that reduce the redness, blotchiness and a clearer complexion that is calm, clear and balanced as part of the Obagi rosaclear system.
On a special note: the moisturizer in this set does not have spf so I recommend you add your own or get the Obagi brand in spf 30 to compliment the system.
I received a sample set and tried it even though I don’t have rosacea. Here’s what I found:
The cleanser: lovely, light scent, smooth feeling, and washes clean while removing my mascara (though I did not have the usual ton on). My skin felt clean, but not tight.
The hydrating complexion corrector moisturizer did reduce some redness I had in my skin and left my face feeling soft and supple. What I like about this product is that it contains aloe, lavender and mica for calming the skin and protecting it too!
I did not try the Metronidazole Topical gel because it wasn’t in the box…but this is the Rx only treatment for the inflammatory papules and pustules that look like pimples associated with rosacea. I usually try everything, but honestly, even if this was in the box, I don’t have a true case scenario to test and base a result on. After a quick chat with the Obagi representative, the Metronidazole is not included because it’s the prescription part.
