Zaggora wanted to dig deeper, though, so put HotPants to the test to show exactly what the “Hot” in HotPants means for you.
Testing
Zaggora commissioned independent research on the effects of HotPants at the Chelsea School of Sport, University of Brighton, who compared HotPants to a standard fitness-wear garment when worn during 30 minutes of exercise. They measured their weight loss, core and skin temperatures, and energy expenditure. The women exercised at an intensity that was appropriate for most people that may carry out light training in the gym to make the “exercise reasonably demanding but not exhaustive.”
Key results
The research revealed:- HotPants increase the effectiveness of exercise over 30 minutes
- HotPants increased the metabolic rate in the hour after 30 minutes of exercise
- HotPants increase energy expenditure in the resting stage after exercise
- The core temperature of each subject was increased when wearing HotPants
- Thermal sensation was significantly greater, but comfortable, in HotPants
