TGIF and the 2015 new year's resolutions in full effect: Zombies, run!

Hello Gorgeous and happy TGIF!

I am keeping on top of my new year's resolution to complete two fitness events this year: a simple marathon and triathlon. Three years ago, I tore my calf muscle training for the Ironman and I just have never got my mojo back.

I still love swim/bike/running. Well, specifically running, but I have not focused on training in the past three years. Well, there is no time like the present.

I have a spring triathlon on the calendar and a fall marathon. You never know, I just may add another event on to the roster, but for now I'm beginning my training with a new app on my phone called "Zombies, run!" and a Fitbit.

Together, I plan to use these two to fitness items to help me post great times at my events. Next up, some new training gear. I could use some new sneakers and running skirts!

How about you? How are your 2015 New Year's Resolutions going?

Triathlon For Girls Like Us...who wants to train?

Hey gals
I got this book in the mail, read it and loved it. In fact, I think I'm having a God *Wink* moment. I seriously have been thinking about it for some time now that I want to compete in a triathlon. You know, for the fun of it and the accomplishment.

I have the running part down, and with some kind of bum padding I think the bike is going to be doable, it's the swimming I'm concerned about. I am a strong swimmer but don't do it alot.

It's not like I'm signing up for the Ironman, I'm signing up for the half-Ironman.
So, does anyone want to join and train?

The God *Wink* book I received is by Gloria Safar and it's called "Triathlon For Girls Like Us" and it's a great layout of what and how you need to train to be ready.

It has this great chapter on nutrition which is so imporant! When I ran the P.F. Chang's Rock n Roll half marathon, when I finished, I had the race exit snacks and then ate some Taco Bell and drove back to my house which was 4 1/2 hours away! Nuts! Okay, so now I know how NOT to do it.

I'm thinking I'm going to start lining up the necessary details to compete in the half-Ironman triathlon. Join me!
