Hey friends-just a quick Saturday boost for you to help encourage you wherever you are to look and feel your best. Below are some tips from sought after image expert Janice Hurley-Trailor to help you transform the style closet you have to the style closet you want! Enjoy!
***

Janice Hurley-Trailor, an image expert who has worked with everyone from new moms to Fortune 500 companies, shows you how.

The holidays are right around the corner. Celebrate this year by wowing them at the holiday party and looking your best throughout the holiday season. Janice Hurley-Trailor, a top image consultant who has helped hundreds of women transform their images and their lives, explains how.

Here are some simple style tips you can use to help update your look:

* Try on the holiday outfit you think you want to wear and make sure it truly flatters and fits the occasion. A quick update would be to add an interesting pair of new shoes or update your jewelry with either a strong statement piece or--the new rage this season--layering multiple necklaces.

* Buy a ruffled or fringed scarf to wear with your winter coat so that you look and feel festive.

* Treat yourself to those full-length boots and wear them with matching tights to update last year's little black dress.

* Choose lacy, patterned black hose to update any holiday dress or skirt from last year.

* Get a pair of long and dramatic false eyelashes attached at your local spa. They will last about three weeks and will make the holidays fun and more glamorous.

* Go discount shopping now for something fun for the holidays. Nordstrom 's Rack has a wonderful designer section that carries clothes that were just recently on their department-store floor. Treat yourself before you need the dress, so you aren't rushed to make a choice.

Hey gals pals!
I have a quick question for you today: what makes you beautiful? I would like to hear from you, either post your comment or email me and share a bit about what it is about yourself that makes you personally feel beautiful.

I ask this because I'm involved in some charities, fundraisers and benefits and I walk between the seriously abused and the seriously in need of an attitude check. Each lady has value and each lady is beautiful but sometimes neither: the poorest or the richest realize or see their real beauty and worth.

Some put labels on themselves with words and some use labels from department store brands to make themselves feel beautiful and that's awesome if it's workin' for you. Though after labels fade and sizes no longer fit, then what is it that makes you feel beautiful?

I always seem to be at war with myself whether it's in my head or closet at any given day or time. Though the skinny pants fitting, freshly colored roots that have not gone awry, or the most amazing pedicure are not what make me beautiful.

I am beautiful because I have Jesus in my heart. On my ugly days when I have done something screwy or said something awful then polished off a pepperoni jalapeno sausage pizza in one sitting and hate myself for it; He is always there with his precious Blood to wash me clean again and remind me that it's my heart that He is after. He wants to know me, and you, for who we are not for what we look like.

So I encourage you today, that if you haven't talked to Him lately, to simply begin a wee conversation with Him. Don't know where to start? Just say Hi Jesus, it's ______, (put your name in here)and let your day unroll before Him. He is the best listener, comforter and counselor and I can promise that you will feel better, and quite honestly beautiful.

Come see me tonight at City of Grace in Mesa for the opening night of Prayer Quake. It's free and a real hootenanny!

Nature's Gate sunless tanner

Anti-Aging Tips for Your Body

Get advice from the pros who know on how to keep those wrinkles at bay

Anti-Aging Tips for Your Body

This is a TotalBeauty.com body article

This total body guide to anti-aging will teach you how to keep things firm and fabulous.

Read guide

Okay, wait til you see the before and afte pics on this product! I love that it doesn't smell chemically like other brands, and it does give a nice brown hue to the skin instead of a orangey one.
I encourage you to familiarize yourself with a self tanner, find a brand you like and maybe even try this one. Do you know why? Because skin cancer is on the rise in young twentysomethings and it's not from over exposure at the beach or in my town at the Salt River tubing party; it's from the proliferation of indoor tanning beds.
Here is a patch of bare skin ready to be "self tanned".

So do yourself and your skin a favor, try some Nature's Gate ( get it at Sprouts!) sunless tanner.

This is a second coat of the Nature's Gate sunless tanner being applied to a patch of pale and bare skin.

Here's a quickie how to apply sunless tanner and not look funky:
1. Exfoliate the area, or your whole body! I recommend using the scrubby gloves that are like a dollar at Walmart. Apply a scrub to the scrubby gloves, this can be something lovely like Quick Tan sunless tanning prep scrub or the St. Ives apricot scrub which I find to be too harsh for my face but great for my knees, elbows and heels.

2. Apply a paraben free lotion to the bendy parts of you: meaning toe knuckles, elbows, knees, ankles so that the lotion fills in the wee skin folds.

3. Apply and rub in the self tanner and stand in a big X until it's dry. This could be a minute, could be five. The point is, the more you move while the product still feels tacky to your touch the more chance you have of streaking.

Buy a spray kind for your back or have some help. :) Enjoy it friends!
p.s. Thank you so much to all the kind comments about your Dads for the Tim McGraw fragrance set giveaway. I know 5 people are going to be smellin' real good real soon!

Here's two coats and one hour of applying and letting dry then reapplying the sunless tanner from Nature's Gate:

Ah, now we have it. After one hour, and two applications I have a wee patch of tanned skin in the shape of a heart somewhere on my body.

Remember your skin when it comes to the sun!

Self tanning? Try Comodynes self tanning towelettes

Find out which products will keep you burn-free and looking fabulous this summer

What's The Best Sun Protection For You?
This is a TotalBeauty.com best and worst skin care products article
While it's no fun to apply sunscreen (unless of course someone else does it for you), using these top-rated products will hopefully make it a tad more enjoyable.

Honestly, everything that comes into the blog I test personally. So I was really excited to get a sample for the Body Drench Quick Tan Body Scrub to help slough off the crunchy layer of chlorine dried skin and then smooth on some lovely self tanner color.
I got the mail after I had gone running and taken a shower so instead of a full body slather (there is always tomorrow!) I just did my legs since that is what sticks out on the majority of my normal day. Ooh, the body scrub has a chocolately buttery smell and it's delicous! It gives a foamy lather and doens't have alot of grain/grit to it-so I would categorize it as a medium exfoliant. That is somewhere between ripping skin off and just lightly buffing the tough stuff.
Next I open up the Comodynes self tanning towelette which I have taken to calling my tan glove of love. It doesn't have a chemically smell, in fact it doesn't smell like the usual self tanner at all and the scent is actually quite pleasant. Now for the sake of modesty and your retinas being seared with an image I have refrained from making one large swatch of tan glove love over my nearly translucent white midsection. I have the same body coloring as a shark: dark on the back, light on the belly. You may remember the Comodynes name because they make amazing makeup remover towelettes that you can buy for $4.99 at Trader Joes.

Those things are awesome!

Well, as you can tell I do all my own testing and photography. What I wanted you to see is that this thin cotton glove is saturated with a solution that is browning my legs as I write! I'll post a full 3 hours later photo...later...
My experience with the Comodynes self tanning towelettes is good. No stinky smell, didn't rub off on my clothes or towels. I did wash my hands right after using and I didn't have any discoloring of my palms. So if you get a box of 8 for $12.99 and plan to travel, have a destination wedding or just want to tan yourself on lunch before you go out at night, consider getting these because your officemates will have no idea that at the very moment you are talking to them you are also self tanning.
Enjoy!

Triathlon For Girls Like Us...who wants to train?

Hey gals
I got this book in the mail, read it and loved it. In fact, I think I'm having a God *Wink* moment. I seriously have been thinking about it for some time now that I want to compete in a triathlon. You know, for the fun of it and the accomplishment.

I have the running part down, and with some kind of bum padding I think the bike is going to be doable, it's the swimming I'm concerned about. I am a strong swimmer but don't do it alot.

It's not like I'm signing up for the Ironman, I'm signing up for the half-Ironman.
So, does anyone want to join and train?

The God *Wink* book I received is by Gloria Safar and it's called "Triathlon For Girls Like Us" and it's a great layout of what and how you need to train to be ready.

It has this great chapter on nutrition which is so imporant! When I ran the P.F. Chang's Rock n Roll half marathon, when I finished, I had the race exit snacks and then ate some Taco Bell and drove back to my house which was 4 1/2 hours away! Nuts! Okay, so now I know how NOT to do it.

I'm thinking I'm going to start lining up the necessary details to compete in the half-Ironman triathlon. Join me!
