TIFF hair you can wear with Nexxus, Reese and Lona Vigi

It has been quite some time since I have been to the Toronto Film Festival in person to see the films. I recall really enjoying the beauty of the city and people.

Today I have a style "how to" for you to help get your hair in red carpet style!

Nexxus New York Salon Care Celebrity Stylist Lona Vigi crafted this award-winning actress’s beautiful voluminous hair look as she graced the red carpet for the premiere of her new animated movie “Sing,” at the Toronto International Film Festival yesterday. “Since it was a kids movie premiere that was during the day, Reese and I decided to keep her hair down, flowy and fun for the occasion, and to flawlessly complement her off-the-shoulder dress” said Lona. 

Follow Lona’s tips to re-create this look: 

1. Starting with towel-dried hair, apply a palm sized amount of Nexxus New York Salon Care Mousse Plus Volumizing Foam from roots to ends to weightless support the style and add volume. 
2. Create a deep side part, then divide hair into sections and blow dry using a medium-sized round brush to add body.
3. Once dried, use a double barrel iron to add curls and alternate with a 1.5” curling iron every couple of curls to create effortless, undone waves. 
4. Finish with the Nexxus New York Salon Care Comb Thru Finishing Mist and spray all over hair to provide natural, movable hold.

Need help getting some party ready for New Year's eve? Enjoy this post with step by step instructions from celebrity stylist Thomas Dunkin with Sebastian.

The holiday season is in full swing and going from the office to a holiday celebration is the pleasant reality for many.  However, 5 o’clock hair isn’t nearly as bouncy and fresh as it was earlier in the day, which can cause a holiday hairstyle to be, well, deflated.

 

Celebrity stylist Thomas Dunkin, whose clients include Rachel McAdams, Michelle Williams and Isla Fisher, reveals his top hair tips for going from day to night depending on hair type and length!

 

 

 

 

FOR LONG HAIR: “Go for fuss-free waves!”

1.)    Wear hair to work in a braided bun and take it out just before the work day is over.

2.)    Loosen it up with fingers to create a soft ‘beachy’ wave. 

3.)    Spritz the hair with Sebastian Professional Trilliant ($19.95) for a beautiful shine and soft hold.

(NOTE: The tighter the braid, the more wavy it will be.) 

 

 

FOR CURLY MEDIUM TO LONG HAIR: "Embrace those curls for a fun holiday look.”

1.)    Wear hair curly to work.

2.)    Before leaving the office, apply a small amount of Sebastian Professional Whipped Cream ($19.95) to hair.

3.)    Take small to medium sections of hair and pull them towards the back of the head while twirling them around two fingers. Secure in place with bobby pins.

4.)    Continue this until all of the hair is secured and set with Sebastian Professional Zero Gravity hairspray ($16.95) for a light hold.  

 

 

FOR FINE HAIR: “Go for an updo with maximum body, using a hair donut or hair pad.”

1.)    Wash and blow dry hair in the morning and wear it down during the day to allow for added texture from daily wear and tear.

2.)    Back comb the hair throughout the head and use Sebastian Professional Shaper hairspray ($16.95) to help create the desired shape and volume. 

3.)    Place the pad at the crown and secure with bobby pins. Take small sections of hair and wrap the hair around pad, tucking the hair under it and securing it with a hair pin.

4.)    Allow the pieces of hair that fall freely to remain loose. Apply Sebastian Professional Shine Crafter Wax ($15.95) to the hair for added polish.
