Oh-it's so hot in Arizona-already! Around here-you really need to be wearing sunscreen everyday-face,hands, ears-you name it put some suncreen on it.
What I love about the brand Lavanila Laboratories is that it's a chemical free product. It's made in the USA, is 100% recyclable, not tested on animals and has a long list of stuff that is NOT in it! Such as:

1.Where does the inspiration for gloss, butter and shimmer colors come from? Are the colors naturally sourced?
The inspiration for the Wildly Natural came from years of working with whimsical animal packaging, but trying to create something more grown up while still staying natural, funky and adding an element of beauty. We wanted to stay within the ‘animal’ range, but use natural patterns as inspiration for the packaging, and ingredients sourced in nature. The colors are natural micas, they provide the shine and the color. No artificial colors (or ingredients are used). The Glosses are 100% natural and 63% organic.


2. I think the Wildy Natural lip products and many of the Mad Gab's would be a good fit for 'precocious puberty' girls-those being forced into an early menarche due to parabens, petrochemicals and synthetic hormones being used in many body care products today-what do you think? I agree that Wildly Natural will appeal to the younger crowd, but we’ve seen women of all decades gravitate to the packaging as well as the high quality of the product. 3. Does Mad Gab's have a particular demographic from when you started to today? When I started [20 years ago!] I was targeting the natural food store customer. Over the years that shifted to a general gift-store and department store customer, and now our customers are found in a variety of stores around the US and abroad. Our whimsical line is popular with women, men, children…..we thought due to the packaging that it might trend younger, but it’s really a psycho-graphic. Playful people who like quality products tend to be our customers and they come in all ages and both genders. The Wildly Natural line is geared towards women and girls of all ages, as it is more feminine in presentation.


4. I love that you are retailed in Arizona at the Sea Life Aquarium and Arizona Museum of Natural History-both of which I have visited with my son; are any of the proceeds from sales shared with the venue to support the animals/history/charity? We don’t currently work with any charities, as Mad Gab’s is so small that it would be a token partnership which feels a bit disingenuous. As we grow it has always been part of our plan to partner with a non-profit group that will benefit from sales of our products.

Take a look at this picture. I tried this today and it worked. Usually the natural deoderants don't, but I"m here to tell you that as I go through the master cleanse, sweat through the humid Arizona monsoon season, this product worked. Now it's a deoderant not an anti-perspirant. So yes, I still sweat and in fact did have sweat rings in my armpits, though I also had the sweaty band around my middle and a big wet strip down my back and that's what happens when you sit through swim lessons and soccer lessons outside in the hot sun. Alas! I did not stink! Nope, not a scent. Only the sweet hint of limey grapefruit. The product is cool to the touch when you apply and didn't rub off on my clothes. So, get it from Sephora or on their website, I think it's worth your time!

I also tried: The Healthy Sunscreen and I liked it though I"m still in love with my La Roche Posay spf 45 matte sunscreen. This has a high zinc oxide content which adds barrier protection
and it held up under the chlorine water of the pool. It's good, I like it, but not ready to switch from the matte sunscreen by LRP.

I just received a sample from the company Ava Anderson Non-Toxic, and it's the eyemakeup remover pads. Hmm, simple packaging which is always a good thing in my book. Then I read through the media kit info, very interesting to read the story of how at the age of 14 she saw a news story of how babies umbilical cord blood tests showed high toxicity levels of cancer agents found in makeup and cosmetic beauty products.

So the young miss Ava got all fired up and began to research what was safe for her to use, and when she couldn't find a good choice, she made some! I love her drive, initiative, gumption and commitment to the good of others! Now that she is fifteen years old, with the help of her parents she launched the line Ava Anderson Non-Toxic.

I tried the eyemakeup remover and the truth, it did remove my eyeshadows and liner but made a wee dent in my three coats of mascara. I'm going to surmise that if you were wearing Larenim, Arbonne, or Aveda, you wouldn't have the challenge taking off the mascara.

Seriously now, I try alot of products though I keep coming back to some favorites in the Zia Natural line. They just feel good while washing and take off my makeup, even the mascara load. I really enjoyed the Oceanic clay cleanser, though the green gel cleanser is so good for grimey oily skin that is saturated in sunscreen and has been sweating too!

I was working outside for three days at the local Phoenix International Raceway NASCAR race and the sun and sunscreen and oily dirty icky got to me! I used the green "fresh"cleanser on those evenings and after I had a sunburned face from working outside for ten hours straight I switched to the soybean based moisturizing cleanser and it was calming to my red irritated skin.
