Peter Thomas Roth Max Anti-shine gel...my secret

I'm on location the next three days...so...the info will be short and sweet!
My secret man makeup is that when getting a guy ready for film or television, especially HDTV broadcasts I don't use very much makeup. Very little in fact!

What I do use a lot of is, Max Anti-shine gel ( Sephora $40) to take the shine off, give a matte appearance, to hold up under hostile lighting situations to a man wearing a three piece suit and most importantly, in the Arizona sun and sweat...last.

It's thin, has great slip, amazing texture, hugs the skin and blends smooth. Yes, it's a wee bitty bottle for $40 ( plus your $4.00 a gallon to drive over and pick it up or you pay shipping...)

though, it is so worth it.

I use it on my brides, my actors, musicians, every one but the dog because her fur holds the shine down just right.

I absolutely love ( yeah, wish it wasn't so hot here) to celebrate the fourth of July, and what it represents. In 1776, with no air conditioning, the founding fathers of the United States of America deliberated and debated and decided:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

The United States Declaration of Independence was a statement adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, announcing that the thirteen American colonies then at war with Great Britain were no longer a part of the British Empire. Written primarily by Thomas Jefferson, the Declaration was a formal explanation of why Congress had voted on July 2 to declare independence from Great Britain, more than a year after the outbreak of the American Revolutionary War. The birthday of the United States of America—Independence Day—is celebrated on July 4, the day the wording of the Declaration was approved by Congress.

We are going on a helicopter ride, sitting in healing school with Patricia King and Katie Souza and then going to watch the Florida Outpouring baptizing with Todd Bentley and party. And in between party spots...we grill here and hit the pool.

The best red lipsticks to wear on the Fourth of July

One day and counting til the Fourth of July holiday celebrating the independence fought for and won by the early citizens of the newly forming United States of America.

Now, what does one wear to an Independence Day party?

In Arizona, sunscreen and as much personal portable shade as possible.

I like the patriotic colors of red, white and blue like the flag, and I would match my lipstick up to my outfit.

I personally will be wearing a skinny red tank, and bermuda length seersucker fabric red striped shorts. Trust me, it's cute.

More importantly, the makeup. Simple, clean, and fresh, with a bit of shimmer on the apple of the cheek over my cheek stain and a red mouth.

Back to School this year for fashion is about layering and in beauty it's about understated makeup. The 80's have come back in clothing, and luckily, we've just gone through an 80's makeup redux. Phew, glad that's over. At least the neon mascara didn't come back...or, perhaps I didn't see it?

Home answers to heat rash

Yeah, right. Who wants to talk about heat rash? Well, we better talk about it now before you head out to your holiday parties, have a good time and the next day have heat rash.

It's a skin irritation. Simple as that. The best way to take care of it is to cool off. Keep the skin cooled with a wet poltice of baking soda water and a cotton cloth. Like a handkerchief, cotton washcloth or a cotton sock.

When you first notice the heat rash, do a series of treatments where you apply the baking soda water mixture to the skin, let it set a moment, then dry the skin. Then repeat.

Once the skin calms down, then apply a light coat of over the counter hydrocortisone. More is not more here, less is more here.

The skin swells, gets red and bumpy, looks like a big red mess and it itches too.

Don't scratch. Back away before something under your fingernails that you may be harboring scratches an already irritated area and you give yourself a case of MRSA or infection.

A heat rash if taken care of and treated quickly will heal up in a day or two.

Why the baking soda? Because it helps draw out and dry up the rash. It's gentle and botanical and all of us have a box in our refrigerators.
