Back to School with John Frieda 'Frizzease' for Arizona's monsoon weather

TotalBeauty.com
10 Things That Can Go Wrong with Plastic Surgery

Before signing on the dotted line, make sure you know about these common risks nobody talks about

10 Things That Can Go Wrong with Plastic Surgery

This is a TotalBeauty.com plastic surgery article

No, these aren't the one-in-a-million horror stories of blood clots and infection -- these are the way more common (and still pretty scary!) side effects that'll make you think twice before going under the knife.

See them now

Hello Gorgeous!
It's August in Arizona as well as the 'Back to School' season-so what this means is we have the weather/style recipe for frizzy hair in a style conscious season! Just as you want to look your best in your new school or job-the weather throws the curve ball of high humidity and high temperatures.
No worries-I have tested the 3 different types of John Frieda hair smoothing serums. There is the Frizz-Ease thermal protection with 'thermal shield complex' to help save your hair from heat iron damage in the orange bottle. The purple bottle is the FrizzEase extra strength formula for unruly, coarse hair that in humid weather can be easily tangled and uncombable. Finally in the clear bottle is the oringal formula which began the phenomenon to transform moderate frizz and flyaways.

The product works well, is easily accessible at almost any mass retailer such as Walmart, Target, Fry's Marketplace, CVS, Walgreens and a store near you I'm sure! It's affordable at the $10.00 mark-so having one at home and one in the school locker is feasible.

To use: simply put as dab or two into your hands, rub together to make a small emulsion and then begin to work into the hair from the ends up. I wouldn't apply directly to the scalp because it can make the scalp look a bit oily.
Simple, easy hair style management at the tip of your fingers!

Hey Gorgeous! Back to School manicures and pedicures can give your self esteem a boost! If you are on a budget and won't be going to the salon, try these tips from nail technician Aija Vilemsonne. School is in session here in Arizona-I hope your first day was great!
Style That Lasts – How to Get the Most Out of Your Nail Art

A perfect manicure has long been one of beauty’s most important staples. However, due to budget and timing, it may be difficult to keep up with this trend. A cost-effective, stylish option that has been gaining popularity throughout the celebrity community is nail art – stones, stickers, and the old classic, the French manicured tip. But how do you make those styles last if you’re on a budget or don’t have the time to maintain a frequent routine? Here, Creative Director of Pretty Woman, Aija Vilemsonne, shares some advice for making your trendy manicure last.

Nail Care

“One of the most important things that you can do to prolong your manicure is to make sure that your nails are in good shape,” says Aija. “Without a healthy base, chipping and breaking occur more frequently.” Below are some valuable tips for taking care of your nails to maximize your manicure.

File and Trim Consistently

To maintain the look you want and also prevent breakage and hangnails, it’s important to file and trim regularly. Your only tools in this endeavor should be sharp manicure scissors and/or clippers and a fresh emery board.

Moisturize

We don’t typically think of our nails as requiring moisture, but like any other skin on our body, nails are sensitive and subject to drying. It is especially necessary to do this when you remove polish from your nail bed.

Paint Your Nails

Applying a thin coat of polish keeps moisture in your nails. If your nails are subject to breakage, use a nail strengthener or hardener to treat nails while sporting your new look.

Careful Application

“When applying new products, such as stones, French manicured tips, or sticker styles, it’s essential that you pay attention to the directions, and go slowly,” Aija cautions. “One small slipup can affect your look profoundly, and most nail art kits do not come with extras. If you provide enough time to create a careful, flawless look, it will last longer and be worth it in the end.” Aija suggests the following when applying these different looks:

3D Stickers

Apply nail polish and allow ample time to dry. Remove sticker from the product sheet and slowly place it on completely dried polish, taking care to position correctly. Push sticker down from the middle funneling outward, ensuring no ridges or creases. Apply a top coat of polish to protect sticker from chipping and maintain a lasting, glossy finish.

Stones

Paint nails, and before the polish dries, add the stones in the desired spots. Aija suggests placing the product closer to the middle of the nail so that the chance for chipping or loss is minimized. Allow time to dry, making sure that the stones stay in place. Apply a top coat to seal the look and to increase the longevity of your manicure.

French Manicured Tips

For this style, you can turn to a nail care tip guide, such as Pretty Woman’s version, available at Rite Aids nationwide. This ensures a more polished finish, and is great for those of us who aren’t as skilled in the nail department. Apply the guide over clean and dry nails, and the white accent liner over the nail tip. Paint your nails the desired color, and allow time for complete drying. Carefully remove the tip guide, and apply a top coat to prevent chipping and increase shine.

Hello sweet Gorgeous!
Arizona goes back to school on August 10th-that is 8 short days away!
Already this weekend I was back to school shopping with Mancub and the mall was packed!
I just tried this powder by Sally Hansen and notice the fine print where it says 'inspired by CARMINDY' ( love her!) This line of products is paraben free-meaning safer for you, your skin and your beauty routine. You can find this product line at CVS pharmacies or online at drugstore.com and
amazon.com.
I have been testing the powder for the past few days in the 111 degree weather of Arizona.
I like the light, fine milled texture of the powder. I'm wearing the Natural color. I was intrigued by the packaging and in my opinion-it's just that-intriguing. I did use the sponge applicator-in fact the very appearance of the sponge makes me break out laughing at memories of Elaine in the Seinfeld episode where in a conversation with Jerry she says the line 'he's not spongeworthy'. Great.
The sponge is awkward to apply-so just open, remove the safety sealing sticker, then either tap out into the lid or onto your makeup matte enough powder to load onto either a stipling brush or large powder brush for application. If you like the sponge applied effect on the skin, simply use a cosmetic square or round sponge that you get from the applicator aisle.
I like wearing the powder on my bare skin-for toning down shine. I also have set my foundations with it-and it gives a nice light finish. I wore the Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Truly Translucent powder over: liquid foundation, cream foundation and mineral foundation and it gave a nice finish.

So for the 2011 Back to School beauty trend- I say yes to this powder. Keep it in your locker, makeup case at home or gym bag for after school practice/study/work. Enjoy!
