Shaun White: Winter Olympic hair volume for the Spring!

Learn how to get the cold winter weather to leave your gorgeous looks alone
Winter Beauty Survival Guide
Winter can be your skin and hair's worst nightmare. It dries out your cuticles, frizzes your strands and makes skin flake -- ugh! To the rescue: tips from Winter Olympics Team USA. Here they share their secrets on how to battle cold winter temps and look gorgeous all cold-weather season long.

.If you have been enjoying the Winter Olympics as much as I have then you too have been watching it on television and most likely looking online for recaps. I'm a big snowboard and Shaun White fan! So while I've been watching I have also taken note of what the Olympic athletes skin, hair and even makeup looks like.

Today, let's take a look and see about Shaun White' style:

That is definately the 80's style volume that we are going to be seeing in the Spring 2010 beauty trend! Though I think his is natural and for your volume I recommend foams like Profound Beauty Stylist volume foam and Aveda's Phomallient.  I think he just looks like a picture of health, vitality, vim and vigor!  Surely that is the result of good eating and wearing sunscreen while practicing his snowboarding tricks. Oh the Double McTwist 1260 is definately going down in history.

I don't know what brand sunscreen he uses, though I know I trust the Neutrogena line, La Roche-Posay, Arbonne, and Bullfrog! Remember to apply it to your hands so they age slower.

Below is a wee clip/photo courtesy of the http://www.nbcolympics.com/ website about the gold and how Shaun White won. Enjoy!

Hello Gorgeous!
For my friends, family and fans who have been following the blog for the past three years, you know that I have gone through numerous hair stylists and hair styles and what I've got now has been the trial and error process.

Though, I am happy to say, I have officially visited the same stylist twice now and the results are worth going back a third time. True: I have a wee snippy clippy of my ends and that's it because my hair is still in the healing process. (Thank God it's out of the deliverance stage!)

Since today is February 1st, and marks the month of "love" for retail and service providers alike so I figured it's time to get some product giveaways going and coupons for services that will help you look and feel your best.

I can honestly recommend Star Flores at Tempe Market Place Arizona Hair co.
(480-967-2244) and if you visit the website, there is a link for money off on hair cuts for everyone and also for color/perms. http://www.azhairco.com

I'll be going to see Star this month for a snippy and look forward to seeing you there too!

ah...here's some fresh hair beauty advice from a pro: enjoy!
Conquer Winter Hat Hair

With Tips From Style Expert Yves Durif

Caring for your locks post hat removal during the frigid winter months can be tough. Profound Beauty’s “mane” man, Yves Durif of the Yves Durif Salon at the Carlyle Hotel, has tips and tricks to make your hair beautiful in spite of subzero weather!

•Add a finishing product to your styling routine to ease the electrical charge that occurs as a result of hat removal. The product will create a barrier between the hair and the hat, so when the hat comes off, the hair stays in place.
•Try the Profound Beauty Glossary Shine Serum to smooth frizz, reduce dryness and add incredible shine. SRP $30.00

•If your hair looks flat or dented when you take off your hat, just add volume. Keep a volumizing spray in reach: spray directly to the roots (if your hair is long, flip over and apply the product) and massage with your fingertips to reshape and re-boost body.
•Try the Profound Beauty Stylist Volume Spray for root-lift that lasts, with added texture to enhance voluminous style. SRP $23.00

•If your hair is long tie it into a loose bun at the nape of the neck before putting on the hat. It can be easily removed and hair still looks pretty. If you have bangs, pull them to the side and secure with a hairpin to keep them from denting or matting.
•Try the Profound Beauty Atmosphere Tropical Mist to refresh you style and add a lush finish. SRP $31.00

•As it turns out, the finer and straighter the hair, the more likely you are to experience hat hair. Shorter styles are at risk, too, because the hat covers every last strand. Adding volume to the hair before putting on your hat should help minimize the damage.
•Try the Profound Beauty Stylist Volume Foam for a soft hold that builds abundant body and tames flyaways. SRP $25.00

Whoa! All of a sudden I'm "Miss Hair'do". I love going to the salon and having the stylist do my hair. Oh, I wish they could just do it every day! Funny, when I do someone's makeup, they say the same thing!
Okay, go here: http://www.profoundbeauty.com/ and see what I am talking about. They sent me some products to try and sometimes, testing on your own works, but when it came to hair, I had to test on someone else. No one else is really around ...except...the toddler. Oh yeah!
He is currently wearing a grown out "faux hawk" so it gave me plenty to work with.

I used the Structure Working Spray and the Atmosphere Desert Texture Spray. How apropro right? Since we live in the desert?

It came out nice and piecey, full, with lots of soft spikes that could be readjusted. All of this was happening on his head while I had Hush Time Out Treatment sitting in my own hair.

The treatment can be left in dry hair for additional conditioning so I left it. Then used t he Stylist Volume foam to give my roots so lift. I sprayed some Desert Texture spray and thankfully it came out clear and gave a firm base to back comb my up-do on to. I finished the whole head with a spray of the Working spray and of course, finished with my signature flower.

Nice! I may be converting to a hair person...
Thanks and enjoy the beauty bits today! To get your own "style" or look, plus the products, visit http://www.profoundbeauty.com/ They have an awesome style tool on the page to help you walk through the steps and products used to achieve the looks. Enjoy!
