What a great way to celebrate your special day by having a destination wedding! I know that there are amazing memories to be made in a period style dress such as these and a short trip to your local renaissance faire.

Yesterday I wrote about the different types and styles of timeless beauty that I saw while visiting the Arizona Renaissance faire and today I wanted to let you know that if you are looking for a unique and creative way to hold your wedding yet have it feel worlds away, this may be for you!

The day that As You Wish photographer Brandy Caldwell and I were at the faire to do the Jennifer Lopez "Aint It Funny" video inspired gypsy photoshoot there was a wedding going on right next to us! The lush green landscape, and multi-colored tents along with magnificiently detailed costumes and props made the wedding look like the Robin Hood Prince of Thieves movie with Kevin Costner.

There are many packages available and can be customized to a bride and grooms individual wedding needs. I spoke with Linda, the Arizona wedding coordinator and she said that there is still time to hold your nuptials at the Faire during March 2010. You elopers go for it! Call Linda! The gorgeous bridal costumes can be purchased from a Faire vendor or borrowed from the Faire's closet.

As a bride getting ready for this ancient time period in a destination style wedding, if I were doing your hair and makeup I would say:

1. Sheer foundation with a light dusting of HD powder for pictures
2. Lip stain and cheeks in a rosy shade and a clear gloss over the top
3. Simple two toned shadows for a more authentic time period look. Light on the eyeliner and mascara. In fact, I would put on a set of demi whispies and seal them with a sheer mascara.
4. Plaited hair! If you have enough length to braid your hair, I would do simple braids that braid together to make a plaiting effect. Throw on a veil and go get married girl!

Keep your nails simple and french tipped or sheer bridal pink to stay true to the merry old England 1800's feel.

Special thanks to Linda and Sanja at the Arizona Renaissance Faire for their gracious help with this story. All images are courtesy of Brandy Caldwell of As You Wish Photography. http://www.asyouwishphoto.net/
