I'm telling you my friends - like the old adage that says " there are two sides to every coin and every story" - I truly believe that there are two sides to the quarantine life. You can look at how we have all been off of work and life for over a month now and that's bad - or - you can look at this beautiful selah and pause that we have been given for the Earth and ourselves to re-do, recreate and reformulate how life will be for us going forward. Life is good! Choose life! Wham! and George Michael were right!

On Wednesdays - I do wine reviews. Not just any wine review - those bottles and brands that are $10 and under. Normally I shop at the Walmart or Safeway, but, today! Today I am on a field trip in Las Vegas and shopping at Total Wine. This store is purely devoted to all things alcohol and wine. There are so many choices - though for this video and my budget, I am only getting wines in the $10 and under range.

Today in other news, is also a day of mourning and remembrance for the 41st president of the United States, George Herbert Walker Bush. If you waited til today to mail your Christmas cards, well, they are going to wait til tomorrow because in the United States, all federal and state government are closed today in remembrance. This has not happened in the United States since the passing of Gerald Ford and that was in December 2006. Truly, one era has ended and another has begun!

Tomorrow is the big day! In the United States, we celebrate a day of thanksgiving to remember that there was a time when the colonists had survived another winter and actually had enough extra to have a feast with the Natives. Little did we Natives know how south things would go afterwards - yet - I digress.

Do I even need to tell you how fast this year is going? Do I? My son and I have never really been halloween people but this year it's different for him. He is planning his costume and wanting to go to Knott's Scary Farm. Really? Ok, more on that later. For now you know what day it is!

wine, Charles Shaw.

I found this wine somewhere sideways in a Safeway. Personal note, when I say chianti, all I can see and say in my mind is the scene from the movie Silence of the Lambs where Hannibal Lector says "ate his liver with a nice chianti and fava beans" . True story!
