Happy Monday! This weekend was jam packed and this week the blog will be! I've got some reviews and recaps coming up like this post about the Aesthetic Everything Beauty Expo, my time with Cindy and Lutronic  LaseMD and a Wine Wednesday that will get you prepped and ready for the Labor Day Weekend.

In August at The Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale Arizona, all things beauty education, advancement in skincare solutions and beyond happen at the Aesthetic Everything Beauty Expo created by Vanessa. Happy Monday! I love a Monday! I get so much accomplished on a Monday! Today is no different! I'm busy prepping for the American Film Market with several new projects that are ripe for distribution and then a product launch on a pet side project! Woot!

Why try a new skincare? Because I think the skin, like the hair, can build up a memory and tolerance to products and stop working as well as they did in the beginning. So, I'm testing a new serum, retinol and moisturizer from PCA Skin.

I found the product recommendations for my skin using the consultation tool on the website - but - felt like their recommendation for a moisturizer would be too light for me, so I got the heavier product in their line. Even that is light compared to what I am used to!

Too much press is a problem most designers would kill to have; but the frenzy surrounding Katie Holmes's debut at New York Fashion Week on Wednesday was enough to prompt an unprecedented ban on uninvited media.

The Holmes & Yang Spring 2013 presentation was only open to a select group of fashion's ruling class.

 In addition to a few elite magazine editors, former American Idol contestant Katharine McPhee and make-up artist Bobbi Brown, who just signed Holmes as spokeswoman for her cosmetics line, gathered for the event.

Holmes daughter Suri, however, was a no-show. (Burn? No, she started school this week.)

Holmes and her longtime stylist Jeanne Yang launched their label back in 2009 and have been working towards their Fashion Week debut for three years.

The timing couldn't have been better. Hot off her divorce, Holmes' NYFW debut punctuates her emancipation, after 6 years under her ex's micro-management.

While most Hollywood actresses are fiercely scrutinized when they first crossover into fashion, critics largely seem to be rooting for the star.

The looks were very much in keeping with Holmes's own classic style. "It's basically pieces that have evolved from basics, but not too far," Holmes told WWD. "They're just nice, well-made luxury items that highlight the woman wearing them."

Speaking of enchilada, we ate out at the new Matta's in Mesa Riverview tonight-it's nice, but does not have the charm of the Main st. location that is now closed or the family friendliness of the Higley restaraunt. If you are a tourist and don't know any better about the other locations than you won't notice a difference, but as a local eating here it was no different other than higher prices than eating at a Baja Fresh.

Adventure is afoot! The beauty bubble today details what you MUST shave in order to survive. I have some opinions about this and love that there is a country song or maybe it's an album where the singer says "I shaved for this?"

Which is aprapo to the saying, "I put makeup on for this?". Last night was Amy's surprise birthday party and she was beyond surprised. In fact, while I was rushing her and driving faster than normal which means I was nearing the speed limit from the bottom side of the numbers: she asked herself "I put makeup on for this?" .

Little did she know that in moments she would walk into our favorite spot to 18 of her friends and family. It was so awesome!
