Being a beauty queen is a lot of work, and spending uncountable hours backstage at pageants, and this week at Miss America. I often wonder how these girls get “pageant perfect”. Some of the best tips and secrets I’ve picked up over the years can help you get fabulous skin (in your own home).

· Make a regime and stick to it, analyze your skin every few months to ensure that you are getting the results you desire, and to adjust for seasonal climate changes.

· Pimples! I’m not going to tell you not to do your own extraction, because we all do it. Immediately after you perform your surgery, apply Neosporin, or another triple anti-biotic cream. This helps to kill the bacteria, and keep your skin from having bad acne scars in the future.

· One of the first parts of the body to show illness and lack of sleep is the eyes. If you are running a hectic schedule and don’t have the time to kick back with cucumber slices. Slice them a bit thinner and they will stick to your eyes as you multi-task.

· Keep a makeup kit in your purse. I know it is one more thing to lug around, but a quick mini-makeover with a fresh coat of mascara and lipstick will do wonders for your face and your attitude. This kit should have at the very least: nail file, mascara, makeup remover wipes, lipstick, blush, comb, hair brush, and lip gloss.

· Exfoliate and Moisturize. It is very important to exfoliate regularly and keep a good moisturizer on hand and a good lip balm for your lips.

· Hydrate. Avoid coffee, energy drinks, and soda. Drink water (add lime, lemon, and orange slices for flavor), and hydrate the body from within.

· Sunscreen….use it daily…or else!
