EVO keeping me travel beauty prepared!

Hello Gorgeous,

Last week I was in Las Vegas at the Cosmoprof show and I ran into my ol' pals EVO.
Which, as you know-are one of the best natural hair care product lines available!

It was at the show that I picked up a few goodies: such as the travel set which contains these necessities:
Ritual Salvation shampoo, Ritual Salvation Conditioner, Protein Treatment, a body creme and a body wash.
So right for dropping into my trusty Samsonite vanity case and hitting the road!

I also discovered the Helmut full strength hairspray as well as Haze, a styling powder that gives enormous volume while still being moldable/stylable and my favorite the Working Spray. It's like a hairspray with texture that lets you style your hair, and then a few hours later, restyle without a gummy sticky mess.

So, this entire kit went to Anaheim and now is at San Diego and will shortly after that go to Las Vegas.

Because it's EVO and amazing, a lil bit goes a long way and even with long hair like mine, this kit will last 3 trips! And then some!

Get yours and learn more at the evo website!

Strawberry Sorbet by Laura Mercier for the end of summer and then some!

 Hello Gorgeous!
It's been such a busy week here at Disneyland!

But even as the good times roll, the "BTS" is on the brain. When I get home to Arizona, it's going to be back to school madness getting my Mancub ready for the fourth grade.

Whoa. Fourth grade. Where does the time go?

Disneyland: then and now: with evo and Laura Mercier Strawberry Sorbet

Well Gorgeous,
Can we talk? Can we talk family vacations, memory making and an icon in entertainment?

I recently visited Disneyland California, the original theme park as well as Disneyland Grand California Adventure.

I packed some staples for the trip: such as EVO travel beauty kit which is handy dandy TSA approved sizes.

Just look at all that new EVO goodness! It's a pair of Ritual Salvation shampoo/conditoner, a body creme, body wash and some Haze hair powder along with 2 cans: one is a working spray and the other is a setting spray. Pure genius and love for travel: either work or fun! ( I will do a separate post on these products)

As well as the new summer ready lip color, Strawberry Sorbet by Laura Mercier.

I have been up and down that castle and I can not find the secret door or passage way to the apartment in there! Do you know where it is?

Bodycology Morroccan Sunset: trio of spa care at home for resting up and relaxing

Oh Gorgeous-
I'm nearly at the end of a vacation and about to do a 8 hour turn around for an event.
No complaining here, I'm so glad for the opportunity that I have been blessed with!

Though, I've got to admit-there is a wee part of me that would like to just check into the spa for a day and rest up!

No time for that! Though what I do have waiting for me at home is the new scent and at home spa set from Bodycology called Morroccan Sunset!

Alice! Alice! Alice! Disneyland'ish!

What's appropriate (and not!) when it comes to grooming, makeup and more
We Solve Your Biggest Beauty Etiquette Dilemmas
Never know when to tip the bathroom attendant or tell a friend she's making a huge fashion faux pas? Here you'll find the answers to the etiquette questions that have long confounded you.

Oh this is not the Alice in Wonderland of my youth! I am so excited for the movie and wonder what character I will makeup as for the premiere? Hmm...  Well while I ponder on that, visit this link to read a story by composer Danny Elfman and what it was like creating the sound track.

And I quote Mr. Elfman "Although the "Alice in Wonderland" score is richly orchestral and graced with choral voices, there is one unforgettable moment where it deviates from that sound – people are sure to leave the theater buzzing about the scene in which the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) dances the "futterwack." We won't say another word about it, except to tell you that it brings down the house! "It was crazy!" Danny says with a grin. "I wrote all different kinds of pieces for Johnny's futterwack dance – and I came up with that one on the last day. Tim wanted something funky, and that's what he got!"

Get your Alice style on and see you at the theatre!

The beauty of Disney's Beauties!

Once upon a time...in a land, far, far away there lived a princess who had perfect skin, makeup, hair, a horse, castle and Prince to sweep her off her feet to Never Neverland.

Now today, we have our own version of this fairytale and the beauty that goes with it.

Around here in my house, we are big Disney fans. I have been forever, and now my son is too.

The modern princess can be achieved as we look at beauty through the ages and transformation of Disney beauty.

The early gals were animated with red stained lips or a barely there sheer pink lip. These gals, Snow White, Cinderella and Belle always seem to be heavy on the mini cat eye style eyeliner, and in my opinion it works for them.

The next form of Disney beauty comes in the form of a "Mousketeer". Oh, to be a Mousketeer when I was a young girl.

This is a very young Annette Funicello in her Disney ears, Mousekteer uniform and very understated makeup. When I was young and auditioning for Disney, they stressed that the skin had to be clean and clear, with very little makeup. Meaning, a touch of gloss, one wee swipe of mascara and light powder. For me at the time, being the mascara hog that I am, it was going to be a challenge. Things in the Disney beauty department have changed a bit.

The Mousketeer club was killed and then resurrected at "The New Mickey Mouse Club" and gave a career start to Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears.

On the left side of the photo you can see Christina Aguilera in her Mickey Mouse Club days. It's different from the Annette the Mousketeer in the fact that there is so much eye makeup, foundation on the skin and a heavy frost lipstick. As you can see from the graduation of the Mickey Mouse Club to a singing career, Christina's look has changed dramatically. She's always a beauty forerunner!

Today's Disney Princess is a mix of modern day beauty and classic princess style. This is Giselle from Enchanted and it's a very up to date makeup look again with a strong focus on eyeliner, sheer pink lips and a heavy dose of fairy glitter.

Though Disney has always had a fairytale princess, the new breed of shows have come out with a different incarnation of the princess in the form of Miley Cyrus in the dual role of herself and part time pop star Hannah Montana or Demi Lovato from Camp Rock.

This is an early photo of Miley Cyrus in her role and the makeup is simple and understated, still way more than the the Mousekteer days, but still a clean look. When she is dressed as Hannah Montana there is a no holds barred on the black eyeliner and shiny lip.

Demi Lovato in concert performances and in her character for Camp Rock always has a more edgy, red toned mouth, black eyeliner with maximum mascara applied.

As you can see, the beauty of Disney's beauties has come along way! When it comes to you and your tweens and teens wanting to wear this look, just remember to tell them: " television makeup is always more intense and a daily beauty routine can be worn that's similiar just less is more.".

To attend a workshop with your tweens and teens to get your Disney Princess beauty routine contact me by email for our upcoming dates...just in time for Back to School and a Labor Day vacation!

And...drum roll please...
