Now, about PiggyPaint SOPHi gel polish - this stuff wore and wore and wore like crazy! Through all of my typing, my busy gardening and my server shift on a busy Saturday night! There are some chips and wear along the edges though it's not that bad for being on a natural nail. The baked on with a hair dryer hand wore off faster than the NOT heated and baked on with a hair dryer! This video shows you the results:

It's Thursday and today I have a "throwback" video for you. Though before I get in to that, I want to share that I find it hard to believe that it's coming up on a year of the beginning of the end of the world as we, or I, know it.
This time, last year, life was a form of normal with school for my family and work for me. Trips were planned and in person convention emcee work was booked and then, everything changed. Hence the Patrick photo. Many days, I feel like I look like the expression on his face!
After a year at home my body looks like Patrick as well. I know that some chose to seriously double down on fitness. Not me. I seriously doubled down on boxed wine, binge watching shows and lamenting fireside from the couch. Ce` la vie. So goes life. Now, let's talk Besame Cosmetics and the very beautiful Mary Poppins shade of red!
This was actually made a few weeks ago as I had just finished interviewing Gabriela at the flagship store for Besame Cosmetics in Burbank.
Oh how I love this color and the history behind it!

Burbank California is home to the Disney studios on the corner of Buena Vista - and - home to the vintage beauty flagship store, Besame Cosmetics.
Owner and makeup historian, Gabriela Hernandez has a license with Disney to recreate the colors and looks of loved characters in Disney movies such as Mary Poppins.
The collection includes a lipstick shade that matches actress Julie Andrews lip color in the film as she played Mary Poppins. A matching compact in the Mary Poppins collection with a beautiful silhouette of the skyline from the movie is overlaid on the mirror. There is a lipstick and nail polish set in honor of Mrs. Banks in a light peach shimmer tone.

The store is adhering to all covid safety protocols and practicing social distancing and high levels of sanitation. Masks are worn and ours were removed for taping only.
It's a fun and beautiful destination to shop in this Burbank store.
There is a lovely coffee shop across the street and on the corner is a luncheonette with vegan options that you can dine safely outdoors at. Parking is on the street and one of the best things about Burbank, is that parking is free!
City wide, you can park on any streets and not have to pay a meter.

Hello to a Friday post! Oh the weekend! Such sweet relief from the mega school commute. Is it summer vacation yet?
I write today to ask you what will you and the fam be watching this weekend? So I have an invitation for you as well as a movie review for you today in this post.

Unplanned film goes nationwide on March 29th - BUT - there are hundreds of sneak peek screenings happening nationwide, like mine, in Laughlin Nevada at the Riverside Resort and Casino Cinemas at 7 pm on Thursday March 28th. Come early at 6:30 pm for prayer in the theater before the screening starts.

So that's what you are watching next week but what are you watching this week? Well, I have a review of the Christopher Robin movies. Yes, plural, movies as in more than one.
There is the new Disney version, Christopher Robin starring Ewan McGregor and then there is the more biographical film, Goodbye Christopher Robin film starring Margot Robbie, Domnhall Gleeson and Kelly Macdonald by Gasworks Media.
As a child, I loved Winnie the Pooh, and Tigger too! All the friends of the 100 acres woods were "friends" of mine and I loved the books and stories and shows. Oh such beautiful memories. If you too have children, it's possible that they have seen, heard or read Winnie the Pooh. So that's where the mix up comes in. Both of these films ar every adult in tone and nature. Sad. Depressing. Nothing that you would show a child and think that they would find joy and delight in, like Winnie the Pooh himself.
Goodbye Christopher Robin deals with the life of the child growing up during the war and his father writing the stories and them becoming famous. As the film tells it, Winnie the Pooh's success made life very difficult for young Christopher Robin.
I did like the film, but it's not something that I would want my child to watch.
I did not know enough about the Disney version of Christopher Robin and when my son saw the avatar on Netflix, he of course wanted to watch. I said yes, expecting a fun silly kid movie about live action Pooh bear, Piglet, Owl, Kanga, Roo, Eeyore and Tigger.
No. No not at all. It's a sad tale of a man overworking, ignoring the family and being absent in his life. 90 % of the film is sad and a harsh tale of life and then 10% in the very end is the rallying of adult Christopher Robin to his young daughter and wife with the help of the 100 acres wood gang of friends.
Just not family material. Which brings me to close - next week's screening of Unplanned, is, family material. It's a chance to heal for those affected by abortion and find hope. The film has an R rated, so please, bring your youth groups, young people and sit through the film and be available for discussion afterwards. You'll be glad you were the one to teach them about life instead of the world shaping their opinions for them!

My family went to see it and my 9 year old son, loved it and is still chiming around the house with "hairy baby".

See which plumpers gave readers full, kissable lips (and which ones did absolutely nothing)
Jealous of Angelina Jolie's lips? Our loyal readers share the lip plumpers that gave them just the right amount of plumping, shine and color, as well as the ones that gave them red, swollen, bee-stung lips. Ouch.
She is beautiful! Unconventional? Sure, but that is what makes her so great! I am super excited about the movie! In my humble opinion there are going to be alot of costumes in the Fall that are Alice in Wonderland themed so start planning your makeup collection now.
You will need:
1. Deep red lipstick
2. Creme blue eyshadow in two tones
3. Black eye pencil
4. Mascara
5. White creme makeup and white setting powder
6. *Brow wax you get from costume shops/theatre shops This item is not necessary though you can either shave off your eyebrows and then grow them back quickly with Revitabrow, or you can just color them blue or my favorite: seal them in brow wax.
7. **Set of false lashes for bottom eyelashes
Her makeup is easy!
1. Seal brows in wax, let set up and make sure there is a firm seal
2. Cover face in white creme makeup: use foundation brush, smooth with damp sponge, apply thin layers til you build up the coverage
3. Set aside two flat tipped synthetic brushes: use one to cover the light blue all over the eye in two large tapered squares. Make the vertical shadow line from inside corner of the eye, up about three inches, over, and then match the heighth from the outside corner of the eye to the top of the blue shadow box line.
Use the second brush and slightly darker blue to create a shadow line along the lashes and a blended line along the hollow of the eye. Very very subtle! Just enough to create depth to the eye.
4. Glue your bottom set of false lashes on and apply mascara to the top. No eyeliner
5. Use black pencil to draw thin arc of eyebrows on making the ends slightyl thicker and square in shape. Go over the pencil line with black shadow or liquid black liner to emphasize the darkness and make them wear longer. Use the black pencil/liquid liner to fashion a small black beauty mark dot just below the left eye on the upper cheek bone
6. Using red lip liner, draw a heart shape in the center of the mouth, now using lip brush apply a great deep red lipstick.
7. Finish with white setting powder! Now shout "off with her head!".

Once upon a time...in a land, far, far away there lived a princess who had perfect skin, makeup, hair, a horse, castle and Prince to sweep her off her feet to Never Neverland.
Now today, we have our own version of this fairytale and the beauty that goes with it.
Around here in my house, we are big Disney fans. I have been forever, and now my son is too.
The modern princess can be achieved as we look at beauty through the ages and transformation of Disney beauty.
The early gals were animated with red stained lips or a barely there sheer pink lip. These gals, Snow White, Cinderella and Belle always seem to be heavy on the mini cat eye style eyeliner, and in my opinion it works for them.
The next form of Disney beauty comes in the form of a "Mousketeer". Oh, to be a Mousketeer when I was a young girl.
This is a very young Annette Funicello in her Disney ears, Mousekteer uniform and very understated makeup. When I was young and auditioning for Disney, they stressed that the skin had to be clean and clear, with very little makeup. Meaning, a touch of gloss, one wee swipe of mascara and light powder. For me at the time, being the mascara hog that I am, it was going to be a challenge. Things in the Disney beauty department have changed a bit.
The Mousketeer club was killed and then resurrected at "The New Mickey Mouse Club" and gave a career start to Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears.
On the left side of the photo you can see Christina Aguilera in her Mickey Mouse Club days. It's different from the Annette the Mousketeer in the fact that there is so much eye makeup, foundation on the skin and a heavy frost lipstick. As you can see from the graduation of the Mickey Mouse Club to a singing career, Christina's look has changed dramatically. She's always a beauty forerunner!
Today's Disney Princess is a mix of modern day beauty and classic princess style. This is Giselle from Enchanted and it's a very up to date makeup look again with a strong focus on eyeliner, sheer pink lips and a heavy dose of fairy glitter.
Though Disney has always had a fairytale princess, the new breed of shows have come out with a different incarnation of the princess in the form of Miley Cyrus in the dual role of herself and part time pop star Hannah Montana or Demi Lovato from Camp Rock.
This is an early photo of Miley Cyrus in her role and the makeup is simple and understated, still way more than the the Mousekteer days, but still a clean look. When she is dressed as Hannah Montana there is a no holds barred on the black eyeliner and shiny lip.
Demi Lovato in concert performances and in her character for Camp Rock always has a more edgy, red toned mouth, black eyeliner with maximum mascara applied.
As you can see, the beauty of Disney's beauties has come along way! When it comes to you and your tweens and teens wanting to wear this look, just remember to tell them: " television makeup is always more intense and a daily beauty routine can be worn that's similiar just less is more.".
