Among Us Crockpot Dinner Ready ! Imposter Life ...

Hi ya Gorgeous!
I'm getting ready for a serious round of Among Us with my teenage son - and if I'm going to be gaming, I am not going to be cooking dinner or doing dishes! Ha!

The crockpot is my friend and I often consider if I should buy the instapot? In preparation for Among Us - and any other weekend shenanigans - here is a list of channels that I am learning from now and worth you checking out.  The recipe I am making in my crockpot is actually the Townsends 1780 German pot roast recipe. Cheers!

TGIF, Shabbat Shalom, and the Murad Acne Anti-Aging follow up

TGIF Gorgeous!
Here in Arizona, it's still very smokey from the Kearny fire.
I'm staying in doors to avoid the asthma trigger of smoke.

I'm also getting ready for my Shabbat with the fam and we have a movie marathon of Ghostbusters planned! My son is about to meet Slimer for the first time!

Before I go, I mentioned on Monday that I would be testing the Murad Acne Anti-Aging line and report back with what I experienced.
So far. I'm in love. As I have had a weird week of breakouts, like severe breakouts which I think is attributed to I tested a new "abeetoxin' mask, while wearing a dirty visor for running and using a new long wearing foundation, all of these contributed to more breakouts in the week than I see in a year.

I stopped all that I was doing and using. I focused on the 3 step Murad Acne Anti-Aging line and with in three days all was clear. I used it this morning and still like the products.

1) The cleanser is great and does remove my makeup-though with the "long wearing" makeup, I had to use my skin shammy to get all traces of the makeup off with the Murad cleanser.

2) The star of the line is the step #2 for treatment: it combines something for anti-aging and youth while mixing it with an acne clearing ingredient. Love!

3) The moisturizer: this is nice-and I like it for day, but at night I need more and by Thursday I had gone back to using my Hydro Dynamic Ultimate Moisture from Murad.

Long story short: if you are an adult and want something for acne prevention and clearing alongside a program for anti-aging, consider this new line from Murad! (*note-the cleanser is available now and the serum with lotion will be available July 1st!)

Shabbat Shalom!

12 Days of Gifts and Giving- support Newborns In Need this holiday season

Oh Sweet Gorgeous,
We've made it to the end of this busy week. Before I sign off for shabbat, I want to share the second half of this year's Makeup University 12 Days of Gifts and Giving.

The giving part!

I love giving wee gifts and my close friends can atest to the fact that I do dote on them with bitty gifts of remembrances throughout the year to remind them that I love them and I am thinking of them at the time I pop a goody in the mail to encourage them and hug them from afar.

The second part of the 12 days is the giving. Please, find time, find space, find some spare cash or item to donate to support someone else. You never know how far a wee bit will go!

Meet Newborns In Need!
Wee bairns are our most precious and needed resource and some times a baby needs a boost when they are born to early.

This charity could use your support.  If you aren't able to give to them, maybe check in at your local hospital and see about volunteering? Holding the hand of a preemie baby has they lay in their plastic cocoon could be just the touch they need to keep fighting for their life.

TGIF with Lierac Paris Magnificence day & night cream

Hello Gorgeous!
TGIF! Shabbat Shalom!
As I am getting ready to wind down the week and enjoy some much needed rest, I wanted to share this weekend's skincare trial with the Lierac Paris Magnificence.

This is a rich, thick, buttery cream that just melts into the skin! I love it's texture and scent which is very light and clean-possibly a bit rose'ish.

Let's learn a bit more about Lierac Paris!

TGIF with CeraVe InvisibleZinc Sunscreen spf 50

Hi ya Gorgeous!
#TGIF! I love Fridays as it starts the sweet Shabbat Shalom I love!
Are we connected on Twitter, @Cherelynn, it's my fave social media to chit chat on.

So it's the weekend, and that means outside fun time and run amokness. That's my own word. Use it if you need to.

Sunscreen is a must no matter what, and I'm testing a new one from CeraVe and it's an spf 50 body lotion but what I am especially loving is the "invisible Zinc" ingredient.

I recently tested a line of sunscreen specifically made with zinc for tattoo protection called RevitaShield, loved it.

So now I get to test a cream based body sunscreen with zinc and I'm pretty excited. I'm slathered up and ready to get a quick 8 mile run in and a wee 3 mile bike ride before the Mancub get's home and we bbq for our shabbat tonight.

There is a full line of CeraVe sunscreen skin care products, such as one just for the face, though I am using the one just for body.

Here's a bit of detail about the product, it retails for $16.99 and it's available at most drugstores like CVS.
 ###

  • Ceramides help repair and restore the protective skin barrier.

Broad Spectrum SPF 50

Water resistant (80 minutes)
With Invisible Zinc and Ceramides

Cleanse morning and evening with CeraVe® Hydrating Cleanser or CeraVe® Foaming Facial Cleanser

COACHELLA: Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch sunscreen spf 85+ is a must pack!

Well hello and happy Friday my friend!
Shabbat Shalom to you too!
Catch me on Twitter today (@Cherelynn)  for a RT of a blog post so you can be entered to win some free beauty goodies from Makeup University. Funny, I normally do this in March for my own version of "March Madness" but I got busy. Oops. Sorry. Back at it though!

Now today starts the Coachella music festival in beautiful Indio California. My friends and I went the first year the festival started and wow are there ever some stories along with long lost photos floating around there somewhere too.
I just love a music festival. *sigh* Alas, I'm in Long Beach instead. It's all good though! Now, here's some things to help you along: it's possible that day passes or wristbands are still available, so go here?
http://www.coachella.com/

For those of us who aren't there this week, tune in here all weekend long!
http://www.youtube.com/coachella

Finally, what would be a Makeup University blog post with out a product review!

You know I preach sunscreen like a preacher who hollers 'repent'!  So, please, pack some before you go because it will be dang expensive to buy onsite, that is-if you can find some!
I'm a big time fan of Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen in broad spectrum spf 85+ with helioplex. Why?
Because it's light weight, feels clean and not sticky on the skin, absorbs fast and is water resistant which in this case, is more about being sweat resistant.

It's under $10 and can be found readily at any mass retailer like a Target, Walmart or just about any drugstore like CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens.

Truth be told-the best price is found at Costco!

How To Wear Hot Winter Hairstyles Without The Heat Damage

Learn how to turn up the heat--without the damage--with these winter hairstyles

How To Wear Hot Winter Hairstyles Without The Heat Damage

This is a TotalBeauty.com hairstyles article

Here's a common conundrum: This season's hair trends incorporate hot tools, yet also require healthy hair to pull off the looks. Those of us who regularly use curling irons, blow dryers, and flat irons know that heat styling and healthy hair don't usually go together. Luckily, new moisturizing hair care products can revive coarse and damaged strands and keep hair shiny and soft. Ready to see what this winter has in store? Read on.

Hello Gorgeous!
Welcome to day 3 of TEEN WEEK here on the Makeup University blog. Today I want to focus on rest and how important it is.
Somehow our society has gotten to the point that we are literally on the go and communicating or being marketed to at any given moment of the day. It can be taxing to your health and well being.

I encourage you to take a shabbat. Make time for a time of rest. The best practice is to have it last 24 hours-but if you can squeeze out 12 hours that's a great place to start.

Today is Sunday and in the United States  it has traditionally been set apart  for families to spend the morning at church, the afternoon relaxing or playing, having a meal together and getting ready for the work week.

For my friends in Israel, they take their shabbat, the time of rest on Friday evening from 6 pm to Saturday at 6pm. The time is different but the thought is the same.

Maybe you have a weekend job and can't take the time off to rest because you are busy being a disciplined earner for your future goals. That's is so great!

But-when can you take a rest? Maybe a Tuesday evening where you give yourself an at home spa pedicure?

Whatever time you choose-please take care of your health, give your body the time it needs to refuel and heal and rest!

Now to encourage you to rest up a bit-today's giveaway is beautiful color of nail polish for you! Enjoy!

TEEN WEEK Rest Yourself Giveaway!

To enter to win please follow the Makeup University Blog on Blogger and comment on how you plan to rest!

Please be 13 years of age or older with permission to enter! This is open to all of the United States. 1 winner selected and contacted by email February 8th.

Now-it's time to rock! Enjoy!

The Fluffy Egg: Bubblegum scented Easter egg
Fluffy Egg is enormously popular every Easter. While we love the cheery pink color, we think it might be because Fluffy Egg smells like a vanilla ice cream cone that fell into a cotton candy machine. The scent comes from the (now retired) Candy Fluff dusting powder, so those of you who adore Creamy Candy bubble bar will fall madly in love with Fluffy Egg. This limited edition holiday bomb is better for you than chocolate, so you can use as many as you want-without the guilt!

It’s an Easter miracle!

The Immaculate Eggception is our newest Easter invention- and how innovative it is! Inside each giant fizzy egg is a secret surprise. What is it? You’ll just have to crack the Bath Bomb shell to find out! Get a hold on your egg, line up the crease with the edge of a hard surface and give it one good WHACK! Once it’s cracked, you can drop the shell in your tub for a beautiful ylang ylang, grapefruit and vanilla bath. And of course, enjoy the mysterious treat inside, too.

Everybunny’s doing it

Hop into the tub this Easter with our latest (and some might say greatest) reusable bubble bar! This bubbly carrot may not improve your eyesight, but it will fill your bath with piles of frothy lemon and buchu scented foam. Simply grab the carrot by it’s top (get it? Carrot Top?) and swish, swish, swish around your tub. This beauty is good for 7-10 baths, so you should have lots to keep you busy until the Easter Bunny makes his to your house.

Hello Gorgeous!
I hope you are enjoying a Good Friday and Shabbat Shalom to your Passover too!

Here in Arizona-it's prom time!
If you plan on doing your own hair, consider getting this new John Frieda ion ceramic 1" barrel curling iron, it's actually called a 'tight curls' curling iron.

I have tested it and liked the non-slip thumb grip, it got really hot, really fast, has a digital reader for telling the temperature, can be increased in heat or decreased by a click of a button and best of all it comes with a hot pad so you don't burn your counter.
I enjoyed and it's super affordable at Walmart and Target for just over $20.
Happy Prom prepping-now enjoy this short video!

P.S. My secret for how to get the tiara to stay on without sewing it into your hair with fishing line is to get thin elastic in the color of your hair and either tie a knot or sew it onto the circles with just enough room to make it taught on your head. So your tiara is now like a head band and can be easily re-used or adjusted if it shifts during wild krunk like prom dancing.
Enjoy!
