How to Make Easy Organic Homemade Raspberry Liqueur

Hi ya Gorgeous! 

Have you ever wanted to make your own organic liqueur but didn't know where to start? This easy organic process is simple and makes a great Christmas gift! 

 

Here is the recipe I used to make homemade raspberry liquer!

4 cups fresh or frozen raspberries - I really recommend using the organic 

1 cup organic cane sugar - and a wee pinch more for good measure 

1 (750-milliliter) bottle 80-proof vodka - I used the cheapest stuff Walmart sold - though, I can see value in using something of better quality. 

I processed mine in a large dark glass Ball storage jar. 

It's possible it's up for grabs and debate what type of bottle to use. 

I think glass is better than plastic.

Vodka - shop local! I stored mine in a cool, dark, pantry shelf. Refrigerating is a possibility as I know a friend's channel did so. 

Mix all ingredients together. Shake. Label the start date. Store in cool, dark place. Every other day or so - shake again. 2 months from now - it's ready to strain and enjoy! Gift or sip!

Fanola- No Orange Test - How to tone brassy orange box color results to be less in between colory

HI ya Gorgeous! 

Welcome to MakeupUniversity and today's experiment on myself. 

I've been slowly, gently working the pandemic box of brown ordered off of Amazon out of my hair. That box of medium brown really looks light black on me. 

 

I've been to the salon for professional highlights to begin the process. Now I'm using a lightening kit at home - again - ordered off of Amazon. I am liking the L'Oreal kit process and look. 

Yet! 

My old box brown has lightened to that weird orange tone. Even with using the purple conditioner - I need to tone this brass down. Enter Fanolo. I found the product though a google search for "how to tone brassy hair at home".

This video demonstrates me using it for the first time on DRY hair. Then I washed a second time with the Fanola shampoo in the shower.

I do not like the time involved or cost. In my experience, the gel and dip powder manicures take time to apply, and I have to go back to the nail salon to have it removed - and I pay both times. Yes, those manicures on natural nails last for weeks. 

 

 

 

This product, the duo set of primer/top coat and color are promised to last on a natural nail when you cure it with the heat of a blow dryer. I have painted one hand, the left, with the blow dryer heat and you will see that in the video. 

 

 

My right hand, is painted with OUT the heat. It's October 13 - I have high hopes that this manicure on both hands will make it to Sunday October 17th without any chipping or wear. If that happens, I"m sold! I think if you are a home diy manicure person, in general, you will love this product for it's commitment to non-toxic polish. Pickled Eggs! How to Make Homestead Heart's Recipe for Homemade Holiday Gifts!

When would now be a good time to get started on making some beautiful, hand crafted, tasty, home made gifts for the holidays? 

 

 

 Remember, no matter what it looks like in the world, you can choose joy and create meaningful moments and memories for your loved ones! I still think it's going to be the best year ever! 2020 is just coming in slowly to awesomeness.

Recipe: 36 boiled eggs  - 12 per quart jar

Wide mouth glass quart jars 

1 cup apple cider vinegar (for bonus flavor) 

1 cup white vinegar 

1 cup water 

3-4 bay leaves 

1/2 tsp dry mustard powder 

1 tsp turmeric 

1 tsp garlic powder NOT granules 

1/2 tsp salt *do not use iodized salt - use canning or kosher or himalayan 

1 tsp or tablespoon of red pepper flakes - add heat depending on your taste 

FRESH garlic pieces, or jalapeno slices to layer in jar Louisiana red hot sauce - about 1/4 cup per jar to top off brine with. 

 

REMEMBER to do the AIR BUBBLE - if you do not have a fancy tool, just use a butter knife. 

 

Final step - you MUST leave this in the back of the fridge, hidden away from sight for a minimum of TWO WEEKS. The eggs need ample time to pickle and marinate in the sauce and be zesty and delicious! Filler’ up Friday - how to add power steering fluid

Hi ya Gorgeous!

Happy Friday and happy beginning of the weirdest Memorial Day weekend ever!

 

I'm getting ready for a road trip and naturally, that means to check the fluids and tires on the ol' family truckster.

I've already checked the oil, radiator and reservoir, windshield wiper fluid, transmission fluid and tire pressure. I noticed when giving the engine a look over - looking for anything funky or out of place, perhaps a hose the is about to crack and showing signs of wear? Nope. Not what I found - what I did discover is that the power steering fluid was low.

I love Lucas Oil products. I'm a fan. When I am at the Walmart or auto store, it's what I go for without question. I'm not sponsored or paid to say loving things about the brand, it's just good stuff. Lucas Oil products are about the same price as other major brands and in some cases may be just a dollar or so more. Totally worth the price and satisfaction!

Part 2 - Stripping box color: does vitamin C and dandruff shampoo work?

So, it's been a looooong time coming for me to do part 2 of this video. I just repeated the steps to lighten the "too dark" dark brown hair of mine that if you ask me, looks black.

 I want a lighter brown, somewhere in the 4 range, maybe 4.5 for summer so I am starting the lightening process now to make the weird orangey stage happen sometime after Passover and then come May birthday month - I've got the rich honey brown I"m looking for! DIY lip balm - Because Winter Lips Need It!

Hi ya Gorgeous!

Happy Monday! Oh. How I love Mondays! Except this one in particular. Late, late, late last night I got in from Park City Utah. I had spent a long weekend at the Sundance Film Festival. Good times.
Though I really struggled with the weather - the altitude freezing temperature combination was a havoc wreaker!

 Which brings me to today's post - the need to have ample moisturizer with you at all times. I think I went through an entire tube of chapstick while there. Technically, this area is considered a high desert. Not sure how they got to that conclusion but what I do know is that it's very very dry even though it's  covered in snow.

So it got me thinking about ingredients and the need to make my own lip balms. Like making my own lotion because then I know what is really in it and going on my skin.

I like using bees wax pastilles,  coconut oil and a cleaned out pot from a different product that way I am reusing plastic. (I think plastic is the bane of our generation. What was once meant to help has become the greatest detriment to a global citizenry! Or so says I.)

I melt those together, maybe mix a lil scrape of used lipstick tube into the base for a hint of color and then pour into the container.

So I'm getting ready to make a batch and was looking for a new recipe. Maybe something more specific to making my own lip products and came across a blog post from Wellness Mama.

Happy Monday and February! To say that the time is flying by is an understatement!  I'm so glad for the great activity, though a part of me is ready to just sit and relax in my chair and read a book!

Oh, wait - I did just do that! I just read the book MLK2.0 by David Litwin.  Wow is it ever action item packed and something that you could really benefit by reading!
