Cheers to another beautiful day - and Monday - and holiday! Although, in covid, it seems like everyday is really Groundhog Day the movie and just one repeat of another? How about you?

Today we celebrate a combination of birthdays for George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. These two men were founding fathers to the United States of America.

 There are special sales, usually on tires and mattresses, and there will be a day off for government employees and the post office. Though it really is a time to have thanks and reverence. Respect and honor for the sacrifice and perseverance that these men did.

I wonder if this situation was modern, would today's people make the sacrifice that is needed to advance the nation?

2021 - Here We Go!

 Hi ya Gorgeous,

The year is not even a week old and already, we are having some tumultuous times! Today, I just have a short bit of encouragement for you. 

I wanted to tell you that these are Nehemiah like days. You will need to be building your business and caring for your family with one hand, while also helping the community and defending with the other hand.  That is my paraphrase of Nehemiah's story in the Bible.

Going forward into this year I highly, highly suspect we will still experience a lot of bumps along the way.  I also highly doubt that life will return to anything pre-covid 'like' we knew it. 

So what do you do?  You pull yourself up by the bootstraps or sneaker shoe laces and move forward. You may not know what it will look like but the sooner you get to designing what it is you would like to to appear as, the better.

You, are the CEO and in charge of your life and you need to work for your goals. Yes, it may be hell in a hand basket around you, though you will have prepared your family, business, and friends to be ready for anything. All while, looking gorgeous!

Happy New Year's 2021- oops - Jumanji 2021

Well, here we are. Ready to put 2020 to rest. Wow. 

 

What a year. 2021 on the cusp of breaking forth in California and I'm excited for it. Not tip toeing around the possibility of 2020 residue sliming the goodness that is on my path for now, this season.

I really had high hopes and expectations for the new era, the ayin season of pey and to enter into the "roaring 20's" in a good way. At first glance, it doesn't even look like that in the least bit with pandemics, and lock downs, and over reaching abuse of power.  But, on a second look, I see that in 2020, I had much to be thankful for.

Perhaps that's the key going forward into the era of  '20's? This decade is about taking a step and counting the blessing in the step forward. Or even, if that step is one that is held in place. In music, that pause, is powerful. The space between notes is just as important as the note. 

So I leave 2020, and go into 2021, with these encouraging words from Psalms 24: 7-10

Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.

 

You are going to make it! Things are going to be ok! In fact, things are gonna be good! You are going to breakout of the stall of 2020 like calf leaping into a fresh green field! Go! Go! Go!
