Besame "Mary Poppins" Lipstick & Interview

Burbank California is home to the Disney studios on the corner of Buena Vista - and - home to the vintage beauty flagship store, Besame Cosmetics. 

 

Owner and makeup historian, Gabriela Hernandez has a license with Disney to recreate the colors and looks of loved characters in Disney movies such as Mary Poppins. 

The collection includes a lipstick shade that matches actress Julie Andrews lip color in the film as she played Mary Poppins. A matching compact in the Mary Poppins collection with a beautiful silhouette of the skyline from the movie is overlaid on the mirror. There is a lipstick and nail polish set in honor of Mrs. Banks in a light peach shimmer tone. This short interview is from a visit I paid to the Burbank store and a quick visit with Ms Gabriela herself! 

 

 

The store is adhering to all covid safety protocols and practicing social distancing and high levels of sanitation. Masks are worn and ours were removed for taping only. It's a fun and beautiful destination to shop in this Burbank store. 

There is a lovely coffee shop across the street and on the corner is a luncheonette with vegan options that you can dine safely outdoors at. Parking is on the street and one of the best things about Burbank, is that parking is free!

NYE Nails: How To Get Fab and Beautiful Nails for New Year's Eve - AT HOME

Eggs 🥚 For Winter

Back to School Online Begins Now - Success Tips for Moms

Good morning and welcome back to school. Online.

Wow. 2020. You are quite the conundrum. As a Mom, I look forward to back to school shopping, and all of the school supplies to prepare for a new year of learning. Truth be told, in general, I just love school supplies!

This year is different. Way different. It is akin to the time we homeschooled yet now there is a different format and check in times and a structure to the "online" world of high school through the public school system.  So far, so good. 

Though this year, there is no new backpack, or lunch bag or clothes! Why spend the money when we are on a permanent "until further notice" for covid guidelines and safety to return to school.


 I saw some tone deaf ads from brands about buying and saving on new back to school gear and I think that's what happens when the marketing department schedules out media buys a year in advance.

Going forward into the 2020 online school year, here are a few tips to help you and your student:

1. Keep a sleep schedule - as if - you were attending school on campus

2. Make a sacred study space - no breaching of the learning space so the student becomes consistent in where learning happens for online school

3.Eliminate distractions and if you have siblings, keep them separated by the dollar store tri fold presentation board

4. Keep a school/study/lunch/break schedule so the student is acclimated to the learning routine and if school campus reopens, the transition will be smooth.  Part of this step is to have the student "dress" for school. No pajamas, put a real shirt on and sit down at the computer like it's a class meeting in person.

5. Have fun with it.  This is not the end of the world. It's like a dress rehearsal for something else and a new way of operating.

Hello friends and fam! Welcome to my first ever contest where you get to vote and decide on which "look" I'm going to wear to a benefit concert. I am using two different product lines and each is really lovely! The first in this post is product featured from Makeup Designory, which I think is pronounced 'dee sigh nor ee' and not dez sig nor ee, which is how I said it in the video. Sorry about that!

Now what you are looking at here on the left is the lovely makeup bag that came filled with all sorts of goodies!

one super soft black eyeliner
