Netflix Stranger Things x Merci Handy | Christmas Gifts!

Mean Girls X Profusion lip kits - Christmas stocking stuffer perfection

Hi ya Gorgeous!

On Wednesdays, we wear pink! I was recently in Walmart and saw these lip kits were in a nearly empty, pushed off to the side section of the health and beauty aisle.

 

 

I picked up a couple for gifts and have opened the Regina George for testing in the video.

Super fun and I'm such a fan of the movie, "so fetch"! These sets are $5.98 and come with one long wearing lip creme and one Lancome style juicy tube shimmery gloss. These did not have a strong scent and wore well. When I say well, I mean not super long yet not super short. I had mine on for a few hours and then ate something and after that noticed the wear.

That's truth.

I was scrolling through Insta and saw an ad for the new L'Oreal Age Perfect Midnight Serum and yes, I like anti-aging skincare. So, here goes. Click. It took about a week to arrive.

Tenth Street Hats - Country Western Style for Summer Fashion - a first impression

Summer is here and it's time to up your sun care for your skin care! How about adding a hat? 

Meet Tenth Street.

I received this hat as a sample to review and blog about. I was offered the option to select a hat of my choice to review. I wanted a beautiful, dark wool cloche hat that would go perfect with my short summer hair and upcoming travel.

What I got was this left over from Toby Keith's performance in 1993 western hat. It's too small for my big head. There is a $10 restocking fee to return the hat. 

 Tenth Street sells the hats and the maker is Scala. There is a sizing chart for how to find your size here,

I suspect that I pulled the measuring tape to tight around my head and that's why the size is too small. I bet with some sweat and wear, the fit would loosen up and feel better.

This western hat has a synthetic feeling straw to it and the hat band is faux leather and turquoise plastic. If you are going to a summer concert or outdoor festival, this could be a good option for you?

Back to the bit about sun care and skin care. A physical barrier to the sun for your skin is a great way to protect yourself and adding a hat to your outdoor time is a perfect way to layer up protection. First apply the sunscreen, then apply a hat to block your face from damaging UVA and UVB rays. 

 

If you haven't added a hat to your summer skincare - consider it!

cheap" liquid foundation. Meet, Farmasi. I have received a gifted sample of their matte lipgloss from a friend who was at the time selling the brand. She has since stopped, and I bought my Farmasi from Amazon.

I find it a pleasant surprise at how many shades they have available and are cruelty free. Oy! I have been searching for a foundation, for my dry skin - and this is nice, but I'm still looking. Which brings me to, Il Makiage.


More on that later as I am considering doing their free 2 week trial and then possibly keeping it? The $44 plus tax and shipping is a steep upgrade from what I want to be spending.

7th Heaven Super Food Blueberry Mud Mask review

Sing it with me! "I'm leaving on a jet plan, don't know when I'll be back again..." ...actually, I am back. Oh what a wonderful trip it was to Texas. I knew the stress of travel and over packed schedule in Dallas would have my skin showing all of it, so I packed this wee mud mask made of blueberries in my bag.

I know how drying the plane can be and part of my wanted to put it on in the airplane bathroom. I did not. I chose to save it for after the longest day and before photos the next day. 

This mask is amazing. The smell is soft and blueberry'ish. The consistency of the mask is creamy though it dries down tight and quickly. I would say mine was done in about 20 minutes? I really enjoyed it and it made me "pause" for a moment, and rest in a busy schedule. After rinsing and drying my skin, it looked brighter, refreshed and radiant. Thanks blueberries and 7th Heaven!

Throwback Thursday- Besame Cosmetics First Impression

It's Thursday and today I have a "throwback" video for you. Though before I get in to that, I want to share that I find it hard to believe that it's coming up on a year of the beginning of the end of the world as we, or I, know it. 

 

 

This time, last year, life was a form of normal with school for my family and work for me. Trips were planned and in person convention emcee work was booked and then, everything changed. Hence the Patrick photo. Many days, I feel like I look like the expression on his face! 

After a year at home my body looks like Patrick as well. I know that some chose to seriously double down on fitness. Not me. I seriously doubled down on boxed wine, binge watching shows and lamenting fireside from the couch. Ce` la vie. So goes life. FACTORFIVE Skincare - Human Stem Cell Skincare

My family is not doing the amount of traveling that we would normally do - but, that doesn't mean we are not getting together for traditions and merry making. Enter my samples of FACTORFIVE skincare. I recently received a sample of the mini travel trio which consisted of an eye creme, serum and cream.

FACTORFIVE website says this about their company and culture:

The mini serum is $70, mini cream is $65 and mini eyelash/eyebrow cream is $55.

Out of my 3 samples, 2 of them the pump didn't work on the eye cream and face cream. I removed the pump system and scooped some out with a cotton swab. Both creams are light weight, absorbed quickly into the skin and have a sweet light floral fragrance. The FACTORFIVE  website says that 4 weeks are needed of continued use to see growth and re-growth in the eyebrows and eyelashes which contain stem cells and redensyl. 

Now I am a big fan of serums and love a good face, neck and back of hand serum!  I really enjoyed the serum and the pump worked, so it was easy to use and get a metered dosage.  I personally can use too much product. The formulation is light, and has a nice slip on the skin which after absorbing had a hint of firming to the skin. 

The price point is what keeps me from pursuing the full size bottles of the serum and eyebrow cream - which, I seriously need help growing in my eyebrows! 

The little bit I tried of FACTORFIVE, I liked. Even though, the use of human stem cells has me thinking of the 1970's Charlton Heston film Soylent Green or the Los Angeles eatery The Hollydale.
