Mind Your Molecules set Makeup with Chef Melsan
Hi ya Gorgeous!
Happy Monday!
Oh June - your marine layer gloom is a joy to me! Super windy? No problem. It's blowing away the dead leaves and revealing new growth in the soil. You get what you focus on - so focus on the good!
Today's blog is a behind the scenes video from a cooking show pilot shoot with Chef Melsan of Mind Your Molecules. Such a fun day creating food and videos! We laughed all day long and into the night. This video is me getting her camera ready and then I moved behind the camera to direct the videos. Good times!
Enjoy the "prep" and please check out her channel. If you are interested in personal chef lessons on how to prepare molecularly sound food!
A lil bit of behind the scenes for Mind Your Molecules with Chef Melsan. She has just launched her personal cooking school for molecularly sound food preparation.
We captured a birthday dinner for a family friend and the content will start releasing on her IG and Youtube channels : @ChefMelsan on IG and on YouTube @MelindaMalovoz https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4q5...
Now in this video, I am doing her makeup to be camera ready for the video. Yes, I hung up my brush belt though in this situation, it was necessary.
I used my all time faves Smashbox, the new L'Oreal Lumi foundation and some essence cosmetics products.
This Amazon affiliate link is for picking up the products in the video: https://amzn.to/3f9w0Nj
Thanks you for shopping with me! Special thank you to all the new subscribers! I hope you find joy and learning on my channel! Shout out to sous chef in training Quincy!

What's It Like Creating After Cancer - Interview
Hi ya Gorgeous!
Happy BCA month! Kickin' off with a bang! Today's video is an interview with a friend and fellow content creator and she has a powerful story for you about creating after cancer.
We were just out in a historic area of Arizona creating a music video for Sedona Skies, a band in Austin Texas. Oh! This was so much fun and I'm loving the end result!
It was a long long day, hot, and we were constantly moving. I was tired. Yet there is no complaining about being tired when I know what she has been through. This video is an interview and going forward into BCA month - get ready - because I am ready to encourage those ladies who are starting, in the middle or have already survived their cancer diagnosis!
Watch and enjoy!

10 Beauty Gifts a Beauty Lover Wants
Hi ya Gorgeous!
How is it that Christmas and Hanukkah are officially 2 days away? This has been the weirdest, most odd non-holiday year ever. Can't quite put my finger on it as for why, but it just has been.
Today, I share a top 10 list of beauty items that any beauty lover would want as a gift - or maybe it's just something that I would want!
Enjoy the list and be sure and comment what it is that you would want as a gift!

Beauty Brands Summer Makeup Party at San Tan Village AZ
Hi ya Gorgeous,
Happy Monday to you! Whoa-the past few days have been intense. In the middle of it, I had an opportunity to visit a summer makeup party at the Beauty Brands in the San Tan Village in Gilbert Arizona.
My son and I were traveling back from a Tucson event and as we made our way North across Arizona we stopped in at this Beauty Brands event. Thanks for the invite Beauty Brands!
My son loves the Elizabeth Arden Skin Perfecting creme for chapped lips, itchy pilaris keratosis spots and little scrapes he gets as he bounds through his day.
He also made his way quickly to the snack bar of refreshments!
These are the products that I bought because there are not any false eye lash sets sold at Beauty Brands? There was one small half eye side set from Eyeko which in no way would meet what I need and am looking for-so back to Amazon for those for the next makeup gig I have.
The Elizabeth Arden is for my son, the Peter Thomas Roth peel pads are for me and I've tried them once and already I can see they are on the go back to the store list-not what I was looking for and no one around to answer my question while I was shopping. Beauty Brands has a 30 day return policy with a receipt. The Bliss soapy suds is something my son picked up and said "smells like summer" so we got it!
Here's a little video that shows just what went down at the summer makeup party in Beauty Brands!

How to get Lady Gaga's Golden Globe look
Hi ya Gorgeous!
Today I have a "how to" video for you to get Lady Gaga's amazing on fleek look at the Golden Globe awards.
Did you watch? What did you think? Does this mean that The Revenant will take the Oscar for best picture? I want to see the movie but I'm pretty sure it has too much potty talk for me.
In this video I am introducing you to the new Makeup Revolution Affirmation palette. It's gorgeous and so begging to travel with me!

How to run the Las Vegas Rock n Roll marathon in the cold, wind & rain while keeping makeup on fleek!
Hi ya Gorgeous!
Ok, today is a unique blog post: it's a bit of beauty, a bit of encouragement and a lot of photos!
I get it now why people hire editors because they are the ones who can help trim the extra words and pictures.
I love to write, though since this post has so many photos I am going to caption each one and let the photo speak for itself.
This is my 2015 Las Vegas Rock n Roll Half Marathon experience. Why the half you say? Because a half is fun and a full is a lot of work and takes a lot of recovery!
By the way, yes, I am sore! It's worth it though!

Ok, today is a unique blog post: it's a bit of beauty, a bit of encouragement and a lot of photos!

Generation Beauty: Day 2 experience is awesome!
Hi ya Gorgeous!
Happy Monday! The Generation Beauty event in Los Angeles at LA Live was cray cray amazing! So much fun!
Special thanks to #Smashbox and @smashboxcosmeticsevents with @ikhanicpix for the new headshot. Love it! Personally, I know, I know, I could possibly be a bit biased - but- Smashbox had the BEST booth at #GenBeauty.
Why?
First: Greeter. She was friendly and communicating the points of the booth while directing traffic to the different events going on in the booth.
Second: Two lines for taking the guests to the artists for touchups.
Third: a photobooth with a wind machine. I'll post my photo on Instagram. (@CherelynnBaker)
Fourth: knowledgeable and welcoming staff to hand out the product sample. Oh, that is after I figured out I had one on the GenBeauty app and could redeem for a product.
Fifth: Donald Robertson decorated the Smashbox and made it feel like visiting part art exhibit and part studio session. It was luxe all around and I loved it, felt welcomed and taken care of and it was so good I went back on day 2 for a second photo.
This one from professional photographer Steven Khan- I really like and will be using as my new avatar. Why? Because I have my hair and makeup on!
Now, let's finish a wee wrap up of the Generation Beauty event by Ipsy!

Generation Beauty by Ipsy: what was day 1 like at LA Live
Hi ya Gorgeous,
Here's a little picture tour through my first day at the Generation Beauty event sponsored by Ipsy and created by Michele Phan.
So, I was a wee touch late in my start. Sorry. Something about the late night before.
Do you do this? Take a photo of where you park your car so you can find it later?
Woo hoo! Look at all these beautiful YouTubers! Beauty bloggers!
Ok. This year is my third year and finally, it truly is a mix of a "Generation" of women. The first year, the main demographic was very young girls, like mid-teens to early twenties.
The second year there was a greater mix, and more of a professional "YouTube' ness to it. This year?
The third year there were mommas and babies, grandmas, teens, twenty-somethings, bodies of all shapes and sizes and such a collective mix of ethnicities. Truly, a Generation of Beauty!
So each year I have visited the lines for brands has been different and this year, something new popped up. The "Line Closed" sign. I went by Too Faced for the new "Born This Way" sample-and every time I went the line was closed!
The Too Faced booth staff color matched each individual person and then gave a full size bottle! Whoa! It was worth the sport of bustling through the crowd and checking the line. 4 times total I went by on Saturday and four times the line was closed!
But in the meantime, the lovelies at Jouer who did not have a closed line had these lil goodies! Perfect for travel!
A girl has gotta eat right? There was a greater variety of food trucks this year and so many great choices too! I went for the hot dog because it had the shortest line.
So, here is the bag of swag goodies I received at the Ipsy Studios party last night. Nice. I laid it all out in hopes to find a way to organize? The SoHo bag is stuffed with more makeup! Lashes too!
The day has been long and wonderful. This little gem of a paper mask from Sephora was in the bag and gosh did I ever need it! I'm a bit dehydrated from the tequila and champagne the night before!
When you visit your local Sephora they will have a large display of dozens of these masks in different formulations and they are in the $5 range. So stock up! Plus this package travels well!
Here I am ready to go to bed! I need some beauty rest!
Before I go, here is my favorite booth: Smashbox. Not just because they are a tremendous supporter of the blog but because there booth was amazing! It was really friendly and there were many artists doing touch ups and I may have forgot to mention that I have learned from past Generation Beauty events to not wear makeup because you get at least 5 faces applied through out the day.
So I went today with no makeup. Then every line I went to was closed! Except Smashbox!
It gets better.
Steven Khan was in the booth doing headshots! And I have no makeup on! He has been doing photoshoots with Smashbox for over 15 years. His work is amazing.
No need to wait and miss an opportunity simply because I have no makeup and my hair looks like a Yeti.
I got a touch up from the Smashbox artist and in to the hot seat I went!
Here is the results!
Now...to bed for some beauty rest and then up and at it early tomorrow for Generation Beauty day 2!

Smashbox Fade to Black waterproof for Labor Day and #NYFW
Hello all!
Welcome back from a busy and hopefully restful Labor Day weekend!
I spent mine in Las Vegas and it was very busy and not really restful at all! I packed a few key items with me for poolside time and to be prepared for a very hot, and very humid time.

Enter- the Smashbox Waterproof Eyeliner that can be blended into a shadow or used as an eyeliner for a perfect smokey eye. This "Fade to Black" eyeliner wore well without smudging at the Voo pool at Rio. I was reading poolside, doing a bit of swimming and a lot of people watching-all sans racoon eyes thanks to Smashbox!
It's just $22 and get it now because this favorite won't last long. In fact, the Sephora in the Venetian did not have the gold color!
I wonder who at #NYFW is partnering with Smashbox for runway looks?

New Year's Eve eye looks according to Pantone's color of the year: Emerald
This year's jaw-dropping mom moments proved that mothers might not always know best
|
|
Moms always know the right thing to say, they're usually the shoulder we cry on, and they seem to know what we need before we even do. However, 2012 seemed to turn that whole notion upside down by introducing us to a handful of mothers who aren’t exactly providing the best guidance. Check out the almost unbelievable mom antics of the year.
