When Life Goes 2.0 - World Is Still Spinning Music Video with Sedona Skies

Happy Monday! I love a Monday. Today's blog post is a look at the 2.0 self. It has taken me two years to get to the place where I fully feel comfortable being makeup artist beauty blogger as well as producer and director in family adventure entertainment content.

This music video for the Sedona Skies song, World Is Still Spinning is shot  in Arizona, by special permit in Union Pass along the original road before the interstate was built.

Actresses Leslie Chester and her daughter Abigayle portray the story of a young girl having dreams of a wedding day celebration and the journey to her dreams intermingled with the adult woman walking to the expectation.

The overall tone of the images to the song is that of managing disappointments and expectations.

The actresses wear  a hand made Jennyvi Dizon couture silk and lace dress.

HISTORY
The rock house by the side of the road at Union Pass stands today as a monument to Jonathan Draper Richardson and his wife Victoria, who bequeathed the house to their descendants on condition that they never cut down the trees and that they give water to any thirsty traveler. The spot where Richardson chose to build his rock house is less than a quarter of a mile east of Highway 68 on the crest of the Black Mountains- the mountain wedge known as Union Pass.

In 1897, Richardson, his wife and three children settled there, the area, had lush native vegetation, ample water and just enough flat land to accommodate a pioneer homestead.  We settled at Union Pass in 1897 on a homestead (160 acres) where my parents lived the rest of their lives”. When the Richardson’s arrived they found the remains of an old Army post that had been established there to protect the immigrants from Indians on the old road from Kingman to the Colorado River.  Using hand tools only, Draper and Victoria maintained the narrow winding road over Union Pass, three miles each way from their house.

How To Sleep Better with Sound Oasis - Worlds Smallest White Noise Machine

Welcome to November! How can this have happened so fast? There are officially 53 days til Christmas and I'm not even near being ready!

What I am ready for is a lot of travel coming up - I'm so excited for the gigs and opportunities! In general, I have trouble sleeping and when the chance to try a sleep aid, like white noise from the "world's smallest white noise machine' I took it!

Meet Sound Oasis, they specialize in white noise machines of all types, sorts and makes or models! If you have a baby, tinnitus, insomnia or stress, Sound Oasis has a solution for you.

I received a sample of the smallest white noise machine, it sells for $49.99 on the Sound Oasis website and can be charged via USB, used with ear buds or plugged into an external speaker, which is how I tested it.

When I think "white noise", I think ocean waves rolling in and out or crashing on the sand and rocks. That's not the sound this machine makes.


This little black box makes a white noise similar to the television being left on after the station signal goes off.  It's not a soothing comforting sound to me, it was a static buzz.  You can turn the volume up or down to what is comfortable to you.

I think this could be a good fit for the business traveler or someone who has a baby in the room and you need the constant sound to soothe.

It comes in a wee hard case to protect it while traveling.

3 Questions with Kandee Johnson - House of Achi Launch

Happy Monday! Well do I have some thing for you today and it's a word of encouragement that you can take with you into the rest of this week! So get ready!

Last week I had to be in Los Angeles - and just happened at the last minute to get an invitation to the House of Achi product launch party. Thank you Lola for the invitation!

 
 Makeup University gets invited a lot and I never go - and like Ms Frizzle says "take chances, make mistakes, get messy" - so I did! I went to the party and I'm so glad I did. 

 Bites were provided by the Doheny Room and consisted of seared sea bass mini lettuce cups, chicken meat balls in marinara and a mini cheeseburger. Nom nom!

Cocktails were provided by Tyku Sake and Electric Sky wine.

 Their was a carnation wall for taking photos with the new style "photo booth" where it's a mirror like image with a camera in it and the whole surface is active so you can sign your name on the mirror and then it shows up on the photo.

 I thought it was going to be a traditional press junket set up for interviews though it was more run and gun guerilla style inside the club atmosphere. So, my apologies for the busy background noise and video that is not well lit. But - close your eyes and listen to the wisdom Kandee imparts to you! It's so good! If you are hurting right now or feeling discouraged, she has a word for you, just you!

Fall skincare with elvis+elvin

Happy Monday! I love Mondays! Today's post and video feature the brand elvis+elvin skincare. I tried a charcoal bar for cleansing and a dual activation mask that was really interesting.

 This mask though! It comes in two parts and you mix them together in a bowl and then it becomes this super gelatinous consistency that you spread on the skin and let it dry before peeling off. On hind sight, I wish I would have applied this with my mask fan brush.

Today in my wee town is the county fair. It's old fashioned and I love it. When I was a child, I participated in 4-H and always had a lamb in the livestock show of the fair and then some artwork too!  Fairs are good family fun!
