TGIF with Arbonne RE9 Advanced Age Defying Neck Cream

TGIF!

Woo hoo - only 5 weeks and 2 days left of the school year for my son and we are chomping on the bit to get travelin' this summer!

In other news, regarding travel, I am seriously, again, considering cutting bangs!  Oh the decision! It's so important because once you cut, it's going to take a minimum of 6 months or more to grow out again!

I'm also planning a lighter hair color and a bit shorter for the summer too! I want to be beach body cruise ship ready come May!  I'm testing the look and feel of bangs with the HairUWear clip in bangs and I think the color is toast?  Though that lighter brown is what I'm thinking of for the summer. What do you think?

Now, for today's "Am I feelin' it Friday" review of a new product, I have a sample from Arbonne of their RE9 Advanced Age Defying Neck Cream.

Things to know - I love, love, love this brand.  Though I do not love this product.  It's $85.00 for 1.7 ounces.  That's high and usually I don't care if the price is high for a wee tub of miracle cream, if it works.  Though on me, with a full 14 days of consistent day and night use, I am not seeing one bit of difference in the skin texture or firmness on my neck.

Sigh.
So sad.

I totally wanted to love this product.  Arbonne is up against steep competition in this arena as they go up against the heavy weight champ, Strivectin, who makes a pricey neck cream that works well when you use it though when you stop, your skin will return back to it's turkey like state. Ask me how I know.

So, don't take my word for it - get a sample pack from an Arbonne consultant to see if it's a fit for you.  I'm curious if my Hashimoto's disease thyroid medicine had anything to do with the weak results from the use of the neck cream?

Thyroid medicine has been known to have an effect on hair color and other body products!

3 Ways to Renew Your Tired Summer Self with Arbonne Rescue & Renew

I am in Arizona, and though it is hot and  feels every bit of  summer, the school year has begun and as   a Mom, the family schedule really revolves around the school year so we are back on a stricter schedule. Sigh.

This summer has been fun and epic with adventures and travel, college courses for my cub and making new friends.

I just received  some samples of the new Arbonne Rescue & Renew products made for rejuvenating   one self in at home spa treatments that are simple to  work into daily life.

 First, the Detox Bath Soak. I do not take baths, like ever because it's a vaginal yeast infection waiting to happen. If you do take baths, enjoy! Or if you are a bath taker and in a hurry, no time for all that tub filling, simply plug that tub up while you are showering and put a shake or two of these salts infused with grapefruit, tangerine, lavender juniper berry, ginger, orange and rosemary.

The water will fill around your feet and give you the aromatherapy on rising steam from a shower. Bada boom bada bing - a quick refreshing!

For the shower, use the Rescue & Renew detox wash infused with orange and grapefruit.  This has a light lather and rinses clean on the skin. It has a fresh and invigorating scent to it.

Finally, I got a box of samples of the Rescue & Renew Detox gelee. Truth. I didn't know what these were when I opened them.

The back of the box instructions said to apply regularly morning  and evening or after sports, exercise or sun exposure. So I opened a tube up and rubbed it all over my face. Talk about tingly. Really tingly. Don't get this near your eyes and I definitely do not think that this is an anti-aging treatment to "rescue & renew" signs of aging.  In fact, I think it more of a sport muscle rub?

I like the light gel, and the scent, and after my next  run I will rub some on and see how that works versus trying to use it as a face serum!

Coachella and Juice Plus : the weekend

Well, let's just round out the Juice Plus conference in Phoenix as I transfer to Coachella.

Let's just say: makeup is amazing and transferrable!

 So here I am hanging on to the goodness at the Phoenix Juice Plus conference

Wow, it's been awhile since I"ve had the Arbonne RE9 line of skin care. Just recently Cheryl Rhodes who introduced me to Arbonne gave me a sample of the newly reformulated product line.

Boy was I ever surprised. See, to begin with the line is really really good and it gets results. Though somehow they made it better? It's got better slip, more silky in texture and faster absorption rate. I like the light citrusy scent and that the steps are mapped out for you on the inside of the sample pack of what to use where and when.

So if you haven't experienced it lately, maybe now is the time to try it again?

I have learned something and it's odd but true: from what I understand from professional dietician interviews, groups and research there are only two things that can be used as body products that Dr. Simeons approved of in the original "Pounds and Inches" diet protocol. 

Mineral oil and petrolatum.

Oh that was hard to say and disturbing to find out. At first I was very excited because from some information and perhaps some mis-information I was finding that you could use on your 21-40 days of active HCG dosing great natural and organic products, but alas, if you adhere strictly to the "Pounds and Inches" original protocol, there are NO products allowed and Dr. Simeons acquiesced only to mineral oil or petroleum jelly in extreme cases of dryness.

Remember this is from the early 1900's not the early 2000's: so the cosmetic products were different then.
The manuscript suggests dry brushing your skin for dryness or itchy skin. It recommends only powder, eyebrow pencil and lipstick.

Oh the horror of so many days without my usual palette of makeup!

I want to stick to the original manuscript outlined by Dr. Simeons. So if my choices are mineral oil or petroleum jelly, I think I'll go with dry itchy flaky skin.  I've been using that gooey stuff on my lips as needed except for the short duration of the party on Saturday I put mascara on, and I had to wear a full face of makeup for the photoshoot on Sunday.

That actually proved a problem because my skin was so dry, the makeup kept breaking up on my skin!

Get your mineral oil/petroleum wherever you choose to and use it sparingly. Remember the reason why is because it does NOT absorb into the skin. It actually makes a barrier.

Don't get me wrong, there are people doing the protocol and using products such as Aubrey and Alba: but the original manuscript doesn't say it. Go with what is best for you.
