Who Is Building Their Wedding Business in 2020? This Domain Auction Could Be For YOU!

HI ya Gorgeous!
There are so many significant timing events happening right now I love the experience of ushering in a new era!  It's like Y2K all over without the fear mongering.

Which brings me to today's blog topic - I am selling my bridal makeup business and that means the website domains go too!

I am working with GoDaddy.com to  auction  http://www.idotimestwo.com  and http://diybridalmakeup.com .

If you are in the wedding industry and are looking for a way to expand your market reach like having a website that caters to couples who are renewing vows or marrying for a second time, then this domain idotimestwo.com is what your 2020 needs!

Are you a makeup artist who wants to carve a niche in bridal makeup?
Then the http://diybridalmakeup.com is a great fit for selling bridal makeup bundles alongside your application fee.

Stay tuned to the blog and Twitter feed @Cherelynn to stay on top of the selling!

Good luck and may your wedding business be the best it's ever been!

Meet Young Living Savvy Minerals - From Sundance Film Festival to You

Hi ya Gorgeous!
So I've been home from Park city for a few days and I'm finally getting back to the "normal" of my desert life versus the time on the high altitude mountainside charm of Park City Utah.

While I was at Sundance Film Festival, I was invited to The Retreat hosting Creative Coalition & Project Green gifting suite. Thank you Kim and Katie so much for the invitation. I got to meet several brands that I would not normally have met in my day to day life - like The League app, Prairie Organic Spirits, J.C. Jewelers and HOST Galleries with artist Ben Jeffreys.

So wonderful to meet the new brands - and across the way was a pop up shop for Savvy Minerals by Young Living. It was a beautiful shop and there were several stations of lighted mirrors and samples to test then take a selfie at the step and repeat wall.

I met with a wonderful woman who, I think, was named Brittany and she is a Young Living rep. This company primarily sells essential oils though they have launched a cosmetics division to the company.

I was invited to try a lipstick shade and then receive a sample. I tried Adore and it wasn't a fit, then settled on Wish, a nude rose tone.  In hindsight, I wish I would have picked a different shade, though I swear, the myth of "altitude sickness" is no myth!  I honestly felt woozy and tired, all the time I was in Park City and no, it wasn't the champagne!

The lipstick has a lot of shimmer to it and no scent and does not last on the mouth, at all. I love that the products are free from parabens and phthalates - but there are other natural brand lipsticks that have more color and staying power on the mouth.

I was given a catalog to leave with though it does not have any prices. You can purchase online and there I found the retail price of this lipstick is $29.93  - for $30, I can get a Charlotte Tilbury healthy lipstick with more bang for the buck.

Find out more about these new brands I met using these links:  Thanks again Kim and Katie!

What Are You Working On Now?

 Hi ya Gorgeous,

This year is fast on it's way to a close. How are you doing? Are you still pushing towards goals you set back in January? I'm sharing a video and it's what I've been working on this past year. Wow. Funny how when you do a lil' bit all the time, how it adds up!  Keep going Beauty! You got this!

This video is a cross over from my other channel - it's my current producer and director reel that I have been using to book some new gigs.
It took me a long time. I would say, almost two years to finally make peace with being behind the camera as both makeup artist and director.  That crossover firmly happened with the making of the World Is Still Spinning music video for Sedona Skies band in Austin Texas.

Yes, I still beauty blog, and do breakthrough events for women empowerment, though I just do it around my filming schedule now.

I say all of this to encourage you - that when you are transitioning it can be messy, confusing, and trust me, it's going to take longer than you think, so please be kind and have patience with yourself!

Thank you for being a part of the cross over with me!
MakeupUniversity and Lions Rest have lots to get started on for 2019!
Stay tuned!

How to Get Meghan Markle's Royal Wedding Day look with Hard Candy Cosmetics

 Hi ya Gorgeous!
Welcome to day 2 of the month of May. Otherwise known as May birthday month since most of my friends have birthdays in May!

I've already got a few gifts and I'm looking forward to what else is in store!

Including, the royal wedding on May 19th of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. I watched Diana Spencer become Princess Diana. Then her son William become Duke of Cambridge and now, the youngest Harry is getting married and to an American!  I'm so excited!

I have a thought on how Meghan Markle will look for her wedding day. I predict a half up do of hair with long tendrils under the veil. Makeup - definitely going to stay in the trend of her makeup artist Min Min Ma and be simple, classic and clean.

So I've made a video of the look using all drugstore makeup from Hard Candy.

This video is a simple "how to" for getting a royal wedding makeup look using all drugstore makeup - and predominantly Hard Candy cosmetics which is exclusively available at Walmart stores and on Walmart.com

Enjoy - and if you do a Meghan Markle royal wedding makeup look, tag me! I want to see! I just know she is going to stay in the traditional minimal makeup look that her makeup artist Min Min Ma creates.

I love the look and I'm excited to see her at the wedding!

For those who want a more indepth tutorial of doing your own wedding makeup - remember, The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, she did her own! Please check out DiY Bridal Makeup. It's everything I would do if I were there on site of your wedding getting you into your bridal beauty!

CARA Moisturizer Lotion from Mehron - First Impression Friday

TGIF!
Hi ya Gorgeous!

Who else is ready for the weekend? The very windy, cold, rainy weekend? No matter around here - we are so thankful for the weekend when we do not have to make the very long, very heinous commute.

Now, today is "First Impression Friday"  and I have just received a sample of Mehron's CARA Moisturizer Lotion.

I have been using Mehron makeup for decades - literally - drawing, painting, schmearing, their products on clients for the past 20 years.

I have never tried the skincare until now. First impression?  I'm not wowed. It has a very strong scent in my opinion. It reminds me a lot of LORAC's moisturizer in a glass bottle. I do like the packaging - it comes in it's own velveteen textured carrying bag, but that isn't really necessary, is it?

It is light weight on the skin, absorbs well, my liquid makeup wore well over it and after a few hours, I did not notice that my skin was dry or I needed an atomizer spritz of hydration.

If I had to pick yes or no to win a million dollars - I would say no, I don't like this enough to buy it.
But!

If you like scented light weight lotions, this could be for you.  Use this link to get your own glass bottle of CARA by Mehron for $24.95

CARA Moisturizer is a nourishing, vitamin-packed lotion for all skin types. It immediately quenches skin with vitamins and antioxidants. Formulated with vitamin E, shea butter, aloe vera, and açaí berry extract to help restore the skin’s natural vitality.  Açaí is a powerful antioxidant-rich fruit that provides incredible hydration. CARA™ Moisturizer helps to leave skin feeling truly soft while reducing the surface signs of aging.
Available in a 1 fl oz (30 ml) glass bottle with pump. Includes a convenient black velvet travel pouch

Spring Break GRWM and Essence Cosmetics

Hi ya Gorgeous!

Ok you spring breakers- how much fun are you having?  How awesome is your adventure? Do tell because my son's school does NOT have a spring break and we are home...while our family friends are out enjoying beach time, camping, Legoland and beyond. Oy!

So today I have a fun GRWM video demo for you to get some spring break makeup or better yet, get your Coachella music festival look on that won't break the budget!

So the video features a look of the day using all of the products in this photo for an easy Coachella look! Enjoy!

Now this lil stick is the belle of the ball! Meet the Essence Cosmetics Prismatic Hololighter!

It's creamy, blends well, and I have used it under makeup, under shadows, over makeup and over shadows, then on my lips and on the bow of the mouth and anywhere that I felt like needed a little pop of shine!  Love this - and it's a must for spring break and music festivals! $5.99 at Ulta Beauty or on the essencemakeup.com website.

I love a creme shadow and a great way to extend your long day of spring break celebrations of being out at a music festival all day, is to start with a creme and then layer a powder shadow over it as the day wears on.  From left to right the colors are: Stars and Stories, 1 second to mars, and solar explosion.  These metal inspired creme shadows are soft, long wearing, have good shimmer and wear well!  Find them on Ulta Beauty or essencemakeup.com  for $4.99

Now all long adventures need long wearing lipstick so you look good and don't have to worry about reapplying. These essence makeup lipsticks are smooth and butter on the mouth and wear for a full day through eating and talking. I did need to reapply a bit mid day to keep my lips moist, though the color was still there! These are $4.99 on the website and at Ulta Beauty.
These colors from left to right in the photo:  SO UN GREY-FUL, EVERLASTING LOVE and my fave, ETERNAL BEAUTY.

Sun Labs and the International Beauty Show Las Vegas

Holla Beauty,
I am in Las Vegas for the International Beauty Show and working with Sun Labs.

They are self tanner company who were first in the business of diy tans and use a plant based formula to create the tanning products. They are also the first to put the "bronzer" into the product so you can see the browning tan places where you put the lotion before it dries into the tan!

Phew!

Here's a little update and I'm to bed. So tired. I have a fun, busy, long day ahead of me tomorrow!

I will be posting on Instagram as I go about the show. Stay tuned!

#TBT Throwback Thursday with my first YouTube video for Makeup University ever

Hi ya Gorgeous,
So today is Thursday and time for a throwback. I mean, way, way back!

I started a YouTube channel on the advice of a friend that it would enhance the blog posts and help more ladies learn the simple techniques of makeup application that can give them more satisfaction.

So, here it is!

Personally, YouTube has changed the way makeup is being worn, used, thought of and learned.
What do you think: has YouTube helped or hurt the makeup artist industry?
