OGX Shampoo & Conditioner Litigation - What You Need to Know - The "make up" of a lawsuit

Welcome to the Monday blog for MakeupUniversity. There is some hullabaloo and fluff afoot for the very popular drugstore brand, OGX.  I have been a fan for some time. They are in court about some of their ingredients.

There is some talk amongst the beauty bloggers about the OGX brand having multiple shampoo and conditioners that have DMDM Hydantoin as an ingredient which is known when activated in water, can cause cancer.

This ingredient is used as a preserver in cosmetic products. More details here:

I saw on IG, that Kandee Johnson was talking about this and she did not know about the ingredient and its effects on the body when doing her collabs with the brand. I have bought so many of those products! I love the smell and supporting her. I can honestly say, I did not read the very fine print on the back of the bottle where the ingredient is clearly labeled, in fine print.

Well, well, well, looky here at this distinguished sample received via an Instagram ad.
That's truth.

I was scrolling through Insta and saw an ad for the new L'Oreal Age Perfect Midnight Serum and yes, I like anti-aging skincare. So, here goes. Click. It took about a week to arrive.

REsolve Tuesday - the travel edition

Please don't get used to edited videos again! Phew! Whoa - the work these take!  I made videos while on the road touring Southern California last week! Oh such a good time!

I was in Santa Monica for some video work on a VR documentary project I am part of. While I was on 3rd street promenade, a beautiful shopping/dining/entertainment area, I came across a sort of pop up mixed marketing art installation sponsored by Cholula the host sauce. While I stopped into use the bathroom, I came across a bucking bronc taco. Well, sort of.

So the Super Bowl has come and gone from the state of Arizona. Thank you to every one who came out to the state for the Waste Management Open golf tournament with a return of Tiger Woods also.

Congratulations to the Super Bowl 49 winners the Patriots and a good game wish to the Seattle Seahawks.

Now-it rained the entire week leading up to the game and thank God that on Super Bowl Sunday, after the heavy fog lifted, the sun shined brightly and the weather was perfect for a football game.

I say all this because I used my samples of the new Toni & Guy hair styling products during the rain and shine. I had fabulous full hair the entire time! True, my unruly wavy hair took stride by the end of the day meaning I arrived at the Yandy.com party with a wild bush on my head versus the sleek polished look I had planned.

Never the less, I loved the full volume and control the Toni & Guy products  gave!
