Today here in the United States is Memorial Day. A time we reflect on the acts of courage and bravery of the men and women in the military.
It used to be honored by volunteers going to the graves of veterans and cleaning them, and placing flowers on them. Or by visiting retirement centers with hand made remembrance red poppy flowers.
Now a days it seems that the Memorial Day weekend is about bbq cookouts and long weekend vacations.
Today, I encourage you, to take a moment and thank a veteran in your family, neighborhood and community. Maybe even get a few remembrance red poppies to hand out too!
